I'd give this one a 75, 78 tops.
Aspera Hiems Symfonia is by far the superior album.

60/65 for me.
Entertaining at first but boring after 3 spins.

not even close.
The fall of man destroys every single track on this album
Aspera Hiems Symfonia should get reviewed and get the classic status

You wait until Avenged Sevenfold have a new one out. The wrath will be terrible.

That's a cheap shot and, anyway, only one A7X album is great so I couldn't care less... :P

Wow, how can anyone not praise this milestone of an album? This is among the most daring albums ever released in the metal genre.

Aspera is a bit overrated, by the way. An excellent album, but compared to LMI it's just 'solid'.

I gotta disagree, Aspera is one of a kind. Stranger, darker, more emotional, and with an undeniable Lovecraftian / cosmic feel to it. IMO, Aspera is the milestone. Whence and Whither Goeth the Wind alone surpasses everything on LMI. Of course, that's just me...
This one has some good tracks, but there are just as many mumblers.
What's overrated is the vocals of Simen whatsisname.
Let's just say that I was eagerly awaiting LMI's release and was a bit disappointed.

Both albums are milestones and deserve the classic status. I like AHS a bit more.

This is my opinion, verbatim.

Good show reading my mind.

I prefer what he said ha ha! LMI is one of my favourite albums. Nice review albeit a tad on the fanboy side.

Arcturus is a great band and this album got good elements of avant garde - progressive metal, my favorite song is The Throne of Tragedy, but I think this is not a classic maybe Aspera Hiems Symfonia is closer to that concept...
