He was doing all that complaining and punching/pushing because in games 1 and 2 that's all the Canes did to him. He either fights back or continues to get shit on by the Canes.

Theres very few players in the NHL who deserve respect like Marty Brodeur.

The first time I go to a playoff game, and it couldn't get more depressing. Can't believe the Habs got swept. The Bruins deserved their wins, but I can't help but feel that the major difference (except for in game 2, where the Habs were completely outplayed) was goaltending- Thomas was consistently fantastic, and Price just sucked. I really blame Gainey for not giving Halak a chance after game 2. So ends the 100th season... Sad times.

There's going to be some major shakeups this summer. And that might save the team, but I'm not going to be surprised if we go the route of Ottawa, which we've followed pretty well so far (get first in the east, start off great the next season and then collapse for an 8th place playoff spot, get swept in the first round, suck for the next season).

Day 8. Jarome Iginla was absolutely huge tonight, same with Olli Jokinen. Flames blew a 4-1 lead but still manage to get a win. The Habs were swept, I was expecting them to win at least 1 game. Carey Price gave the Habs fans the Patrick Roy salute. The Rangers put a strangle hold on their series. Sean Avery continues to piss off JT. Varlamov looks to be quite a good goalie in the making. AO with only his first goal of the playoffs.

Scores:

East:
New York Rangers 2 - Washington Capitals 1
Rangers lead series 3-1

Boston Bruins 4 - Montreal Canadiens 1
Bruins win series 4-0

West:
Calgary Flames 6 - Chicago Blackhawks 4
Series tied 2-2

Even though you guys lost, being at a playoff game had to be intense. The atmosphere in Montreal is always crazy, but in the playoffs... man oh man I wish I can experience something like that some day.

The Habs have so many UFAs this summer, the team will be so different next year. They definetly need a veteran goalie in Montreal. Maybe a year in the A for Price to. Should be an interesting off season for both of our teams.

Oh yeah, Mikhail Grabovski! Thanks!

It was never that bad in the first two games.. In the first we weren't even in their zone at all almost. We had enough with our own... We put up a respectable ammount of screens pretty often in game three and four, and it's always some dirty work going on by Brodeur after a play is whistled down... How can you punch a player in the face with a stick or fist numerous times without getting called? That's nonsense. If Cam did the same he would be called..

What did you think of the whole goalie interference debate after game four?

What an exhausting game to watch. There were 6!! goals in the second period, then the third turned into a defensive chess match. The Flames were tough tonight. I really didn't think they had it in them to give the Hawks a run like this. I think Game 5 will decide it, since home ice has ruled in the series so far.

Good third period by the Canes tonight but what the hell... Why we cannot play like this, with this intensity for a full game is beyond me.. Brodeur was fantastic I'll give them that, but ifd we had been fireing shots for the first half of the game just like we did in the second half, this would be an entirely different game, and it bothers me alot. Staals line looked better in the third, but this is still not what I exoect for them to perform.. They're not playing to earn their pay right now, and that might cost us the series. I'm willing to say that with all four lines on the roll, we're a better team than the Devils right now, but aslong as they have a gamechanger in net, and we have an non-existent first line, we're not going to win hockey-games. Simple as that. By the way, our defense has done a good job shutting down Parise for the last two games. Lets keep it at that.

Elsewhere the BJ's gt swept in their first ever playoffs in a sweet game. Detroit wins it with 47 seconds left, after blowing two two-goal leads.

Philly pulls one back after Biron shuts out Pitts down in a 3-0 win in Pittsburgh.

Oh, and this series is trning out to be more of a goaltending duel than a playoff-round. Both goalies are outstanding game in and game out, and both made over forty saves today. Brodeur just got the better of Cam though, but I think Ward is really coming into his own now, as consistent as he has been post-allstar break.

Day 9. The Ducks owned the Sharks all game. Bobby Ryan, Corey Perry, and Chris Pronger were all stellar, and oh yeah Jonas Hiller picks up his second shut-out. Marty Brodeur made a 44 save shut-out which is the highest for him ever in the playoffs. Biron picked up his 2 career playoff shut-out, Brodeur got his 23rd ties him with Patrick Roy for first overall in that category. The Wings blew two different leads but still won to elminate the Blue Jackets. The BJs never had a lead all series long. Johan Franzen is a big game player who any team wish they had, as he scored the game winning and series clinching goal. 3 different shut-outs tonight. I'm going to show some bias towards one team for the first time since the playoffs started... GO DUCKS!

Scores:

East:
Philadelphia Flyers 3 - Pittsburgh Penguins 0
Penguins lead series 3-2

New Jersey Devils 1 - Carolina Hurricanes 0
Devils lead series 3-2

West:
Detroit Red Wings 6 - Columbus Blue Jackets 5
Red Wings win series 4-0

Anaheim Ducks 3 - San Jose Sharks 0
Ducks lead series 3-1

he was using a figure of speech mr. nitpicker

i'm scared of Anaheim. they've shutout the #1 team in the conference 2x O_O. also Phillidelphia had a convincing shutout win vs Pittsburg so i think that series will be going to a game 7

Day 10. Slow day. Varlamov gets another shut-out and looks like the goalie of the future for the Caps. Matt Bradley with 2 goals, neither of them should of went in. Lundqvist shows the world that he is human, and not some goaltending god. King Hank they like to call him. Avery didn't play because of his stupid penalties the other night forced JT to make him a scratch. JT looks like he was going to kill himself at several times, and he looked like he was at a loss for words when they took that too many men penalty early in the game.

Scores:

East:
Washington Capitals 4 - New York Rangers 0
Rangers lead series 3-2

West:
NO GAMES

Day 11. No commentary from me today, was much too busy to watch hockey. But I did get to watch a bit of the Anaheim-San Jose game as well as Chicago-Calgary. Oh and, goodbye Flyers. I never liked you. Ducks pulled the comeback, but couldn't finish it. Oh well, they just want to eliminate the Sharks on home ice.

Scores:

East:
Pittsburgh Penguins 5 - Philadelphia Flyers 3
Penguins win series 4-2

West:
Chicago Blackhawks 5 - Calgary Flames 1
Blackhawks lead series 3-2

San Jose Sharks 3 - Anaheim Ducks 2 in OT
Ducks lead series 3-2

Day 12. Another too busy to watch hockey day for me, but I did catch some of it here and there. JT was suspended 1 game for spraying water on a fan. The Rangers assistant coach took his spot, he was the only other coach to be suspended a game during the playoffs, happened back in 1988. Coincidence? I think not.

Scores:

East:
Washington Capitals 5 - New York Rangers 3
Series tied 3-3

Carolina Hurricanes 4 - New Jersey Devils 0
Series tied 3-3

West:
NO GAMES

IIHF:
Canada 9 - Hungary 0 :dio: :dio: :P :dio: :dio:

Lulz at JT. That was fun.

Anyways, the Canes cameout big at home and punished the Devil's for taking this game wayyy to lightly. I'm thrilled to see that we didn't give this one away and that Cam got rewarded for his great work. I think the key to this win was changing up the lines a bit. With the great hands of Whitney and LaRose's insane work ethic to back up the big #12, they succeeded in shutting down the Madden-line who has been brilliant against us lately. Game 7 is gonna be huge, and the way things have turned out, the Devils might take this. As much as I hate to admit it, I think they will. I hope I'm very very wrong.

GO CANES!

Day 13. What a game between the Ducks and Sharks. I have not seen the Ducks be so dominant since they won the cup 3 years ago. They gave absolutely no room to the Sharks forwards, hitting them at every turn giving them no space to do anything. And what about Jonas Hiller? The kid has been amazing. 2 shut-outs in the series as well as two 1 goal games. Now the Ducks move on to the Wings in what should be a great series. As for the Hawks and Flames... The Hawks were just too good for the Flames. They were faster, and they checked better. They made the most out of their chances and made the Flames pay for their turnovers and lost battles. The Boulin wall was huge again, where Kipper was not so hot. 3 goals he allowed on only 9 shots, pretty sad. He shouldn't get all the blame, where was Iginla, Jokinen, Cammaleri, and Bertuzzi? They were pretty much non-existent in this series, save for a shift every once in a while. Cammi had 39 goals in the regular season, only 1 in the playoffs. Both series in the 2nd round in the West will be awesome to watch. Red wings vs. Ducks and Canucks vs. Blackhawks.

Scores:

East:
NO GAMES

West:
Chicago Blackhawks 4 - Calgary Flames 1
Blackhawks win series 4-2

Anaheim Ducks 4 - San Jose Sharks 1
Ducks win series 4-2
