Machida over Evans, probably dec but I wanna see a TKO

Matt Hughes should really have no problem with Serra. Neither have fought in forever, and unless Hughes is like injured or something he should be able to lay on Serra for 3 rounds rather easily.

Pretty sure Professor X will take out McFedries, but it's a slug fest, so it could go either way.

I'm probably giving Chael Sonnon too much credit, but I think he'll probably decision Dan Miller. But I wouldn't be surprised if Miller takes him out.

Brock Larson is a total beast and even though Mike Pyle is good, he's not going to hold a candle to Larson. Unless Larson is out of shape from being brought in on short notice ( But so is Pyle. ) I think he will put a huge can of whoop ass on Pyle.

Pat Barry should TKO Tim Hauge unless Hauge gets Barry on his back.

Not sure about Nover/Bradley.

I think Gusmao may submit Soszynski but I'm not too sure on that one.

Yoshiyuki Yoshida is a tough SOB and should be able to get through Brandon Wolff.

Dave Kaplan is a tool and will be beaten by Roop, who isn't that good.

Those would be my picks. I'm either dead on, or totally wrong. We'll see what happens.

Machida over Evans in a decision. Machida's hit and run style is going to frustrate Rashad, and he'll get sloppy.

Hughes will get a stoppage over Serra. I just don't think Serra is any good anymore, if he ever was. He got a fluke victory over an unprepared and lazy GSP, but you saw what happened when GSP took him seriously the second time around. Hughes has been fighting upper echelon opponents and losing too, but I think he'll roll over Serra easily.

No love for the Sean Sherk fight? I think he wins.

I take Machida over Evans, but I just haven't figured out how.

Hughes over Serra with either a TKO stoppage or a decision.

Miller over Sonnen via submission.

Professor X over McFedries either TKO or KO.

And as I said, Sherk over Edgar. Probably go with a decision maybe a submission.

I don't do picks usually for any undercard fights, but if I had to pick my money is on Sozyniski. He is a beast. And that whole Canadian pride thing.

Serra's jujitsu is very good, so don't underestimate him. I actually don't think he's a great fighter—he'd make a great coach, though—but I think Hughes is a worthless piece of shit (read his book), so I'd like Serra to wreck him. I'd never bet on it, though.

And if Machida wins, it'll be by a long, boring decision. Evans has a rock-solid chin. But that's only if he can keep the fight standing, and even then it's not a guaranteed victory. Evans on the ground is an extremely dangerous fighter. It's a toss-up, but I got Evans by TKO.

I would bet on Rashad if he could actually hit Machida. Nobody has ever connected a serious punch on him, which is Lyotos plus just as much as it is his negative.

And yes Hughes is a douche bag. But you can't take away what the man has done for the UFC. He was dominant and unbeatable, and I am putting my money on him.

He is hard to hit, but Evans is very underrated.

No doubt. Doesn't make me like him any more, though. Haha. Have you read his book? Fuck. He and his brother are fucking assholes.

Not a great fight, but I don't like that decision. Round 1 was Serra's; round 2 was Hughes's. And round three could have been even, but I gave the edge to Serra since he did more after his take-down. Hughes just laid on him after his take-down. And that's the whole round. Two take-downs. So a Serra decision or a draw were the only two decisions that would have made sense.

Meh. Oh well. Hughes is still gay.

I should have made some bets in Vegas on this one.

Machida is a beast and I think no one in the LHW division is going to really run through him anytime soon. He may have some tough fights ahead, but I don't see anyone just punking him. He has an amazing killer instinct, which I think is what a fighter really needs to win in MMA. He knows when to completely apply the pressure, and continue to pour it on to inflict damage. So many fighters back off in their offense, and while I realize Machida is a counter fighter, if you watch his fights, he is offensive when it is opportune and always turns it up big time.

Loved the fight, it was awesome.

Machida's strenght shocked me, to be honest. I guess doing all that Sumo shit since he was a baby helped. Haha.

I expected a boring decision if he were to win, not a fucking brutal KO.

I'm not real surpised actually. Machida has been looking better each time he fights. I remember Dana saying that he thought it would take a few fights for him to get comfortable in the UFC. Two straight brutal KO's? I'm sold. I think he'll hold that belt for quite a while.

Oh, and yes, Hughes is a total knob. I wanted Serra to win, I just knew he wouldn't

Too bad he did, really. Or he didn't lose. That should have been a Serra win or a draw.

And I just jumped on the Machida bandwagon. God, this sport has come a long was since the days of Tank Abbot being one of the best. Haha.

Speaking of Tank, I just got UFC 5-8 in the mail. I miss Dan Severn.

As for Machida, man was that awesome. I can not stand Rashad and his cockiness. Seeing him get taken out like that was awesome. Just imagine what the rest of the weight class is thinking now.

As for my picks, I was doing brutal for the first 3 fights (main card) but I picked the last 2 fights perfect and walked away with cold 70$. Niiice.

Any of you guys watch the DREAM fights? If not I think it's airing on HDNet tonight or tomorrow. I don't get the channel myself, but if you like MMA there were some good fights in it.

I remember a lot of those, the UFC 4 one where the guy got repeatedly punched in the balls is classic.

Like?

Featherweight Grand Prix Quarterfinals

* Norifumi ‘Kid’ Yamamoto vs Joe Warren
* Masakazu Imanari vs Bibiano Fernandes
* Yoshiro Maeda vs Hiroyuki Takaya
* Abel Cullum vs Hideo Tokoro

Open-weight Super Hulk Tournament

* Ikuhisa Minowa vs Bob Sapp
* Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou vs Jan Nortje
* Gegard Mousasi vs Mark Hunt
* Jose Canseco vs Hong Man Choi

DREAM Middleweight Championship Match

* Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller vs Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza

Lightweight Match

* Gesias ‘JZ’ Calvancante vs Tatsuya Kawajiri

All very awesome fights outside of Mayhem/Jacare ending early due to cuts, ruled a No Contest. Kawajiri and JZ has potential for fight of the year, and the rest of the fights were very entertaining... Particularly the super hulk fights and Joe Warren upsetting featherweight standout Norifumi KID Yamamoto.

the human body is an amazing weapon, from the ability for Russian special ops to train their bodies to absorb and diminish pain, to martial artists to calcify bone to break stone and wood, to Buddhist monks that can tamper with homoeostasis and control their body temperature. we are amazing creatures
