Fridge, get to the choppa. It's over. You've lost. Humanity lost the war.

Your average European chartfiller dance music bollocks is indeed awful.

Because screams are now fashionable, right? America sucks so much dick it's insane. At least these cocksuckers aren't pretending to be aggressive.

Wait, what? Since when did some scene kid band I've never heard of in my entire life become a representative for all of America?

I meant that it's characteristic of the US to shamelessly blend what's "fashionable" at the moment in order to make money. I doubt any European band would do something as shitty as brokencyde unless they had some sort of musical logic to back it up with.

are you serious?
Euro-pop is among the absolutely shittiest music on the planet.
take a look at any European top 40.. it is as bad if not worse than America's.

Now, be honest, you thought it was a tre cool thing to say when you said it... talk about fashionable.

I know europop is shitty. The shittiness of the music wasn't my point, it was about combining elements for some other purpose than being fashionable that I was talking about. At least Europop you can almost understand, it's got some sort of logic to it. Brokencyde sounds like someone said "oh, kids today like that screaming thingy, so lets add that, it'll sell more."

Europop has logic to it? You're just a barrel of laughs.

Also, you make enormously baseless assumptions when you imply that this Brokencyde band was really concieved of some evil collection of music executives who're conspiring to get rich off of some retarded kids.

So, you are saying that Brokencycle represents an entire nation?
Keep digging...

Replace Brokencycle with 50 cent and America with blacks; would you still make such a comment?
It is only fashionable (there's that word again) when it is talking shit about the US, am I right? Is it still? Or is that schtick "like, so 2005, man"?

At any rate, you:
a) have confessed that Full House "isn't that bad"
b) asked for britpop reccomendations
c) have confessed to liking Nickleback.

ergo:

you are in no position to deem anything as "sucking insane amounts of cock" or whatever.

Not really, mainly due to lack of exposure.
Is he in the latest Star Trek (I'm assuming this based on the uniform which looks very Star Trek-ish)?

The only times I actually get to the theaters these days is when I take my kids to see the latest Pixar or Zack Effron release... ahhh the trials and tribulation of parenthood.

Ha, not quite. The remake of the Battlestar Galactica TV show, pretty good considering I normally find that sort of thing boring. Only watched the prelude and I'm already hooked... nothing worldshaking so far, but good escapist fun without being ridiculous.

And no shame in Pixar goods... Wall-E was one of the best films I saw from last year. Rarely get to the cinema myself either, I think the last time I went was for the first Kill Bill!

that's a long time... did you see the second Kill Bill? I think that Tarantino took a bit too many liberties with that one; Uma being drugged, shot point blank with a shotgun, being buried alive and punching her way out the grave.... hmmm. Dubious, at best.
I did enjoy watching the shambles that Michael Madsden became getting snakebit and Darryl Hannah getting her eye pulled out and squashed beneath Uma's bare foot though...

Actually I took my boy (5 yrs old) to see Monsters vs. Aliens and it was in 3-D, (which was actually pretty cool) last weekend.
3-D, baby; that's where it's at.

You're blowing what I said waaaay out of proportion. I was just commenting on a general *tendency* (and yes, you can understand how europop came into being, there is a LOGIC behind it), not making any absolutist blanket statements. In addition, equating "America" with "blacks" is fallacious, as one stands for a country, a political system, a cultural force, and all sorts of other elements combined, whereas "blacks" is a much smaller and different category.

Wrong. America is not comprised of a single "political system, a cultural force"; it is comprised of individual people, with their own ideas and habits and idiosyncracies and likes / dislikes, etc...

But, I'm dropping this, as there's nothing to gained from it other than a headache.

I never said "single". Sure, it's individuals, but people make up societies and masses, and those do have their own political/cultural/whatever momentum.

Whatever, man. Brokencyde sucks, europop sucks (although at least you get cute chicks to look at).

They / it does; having to endure Europop is like having somebody take a cheese-grater to your nut-sack, cute chicks notwithstanding.

I did, and yes, it was a massive step-down from the rather kickass first. I've always found Tarantino overrated, even with Reservoir Dogs, and apparently his new WW2 film is getting dreadful reviews so there's some justice after that awful roadkill that was Death Proof.

The new wave of 3D stuff does look interesting, agreed.

Cool, did you go to the portrait gallery?

I did. My favorite was probably this huge photograph of Jack Nicholson. That guy is just awesome.

:)

It's really cool there.

IMO continental Western Europe is responsible for some of the worst bilge ever to rape the spirit of music in the entire world. Mainly because that's where Ibiza/Ayia Napa/etc. etc. is, so there's such a big market for partyboys getting bladdered on Stella and wanting some choons to jiggle repulsively to like beached whales. Mostly sent over from Britain, though, so we have to share the blame.

/misanthropic side making a rare appearance

This could be a really cool thread: the "Your country/region makes the worst music in the world" thread.
