Saw Propagandhi last night, fucking awesome. Great energy, really tight performance... And the guitar player was wearing a Rush shirt :P

Of course, it was annoying that they kept interjecting vegan bullshit between their songs.

Yeah if you don't have at least a bit of time for Veganist agitation then Propagandhi probably aren't the band for you :P

Anyway, glad you got to saw them, FS. Wonder if they will play the UK soon.

Apart from the fact that I dislike anyone who tries to tell me what behaviour I should engage in to be morally acceptable, I dislike the argument that compares animals to humans as having equal rights. But other than that, it was a badass concert.

Aw, man, I think that's awesome. A band that actually believes in something rather than just singing about worthless shit. :dio:

Well, sure. I'd just like to argue with them about it :P

Zappa Plays Zappa was incredible. So was Dream Theater. The setup in the venue kinds sucked, though. There were a bunch of chairs in the standing area, so we had to stand to the sides.

Oh well. It was awesome. :dio:

If they decide to headline a tour of their own, I'm definately gonna have to see them again.

So should everyone. :dio:

So i went to see Paul Dianno this weekend, he put out a great show with a lot of Maiden Classics (Prowler, Remember Tomorrow, Wratchild, Murders In The Rue Morgue, Killers, Running Free, Phantom Of The Opera) and few of his own songs that were actually pretty good.

The first opening band Electric Messiah were pretty good too, they play some kind of old school heavy metal that while it does feel a bit retro they show some promise:

You should tell them to get on Metal Archives.
Not bad but needs a little improvment on the vocals that are kind of awful and out of tune.

I'd have to drive two hours but I might go see this. Not for the Dethklok of course but hearing Gene Hoglan wouldn't be too bad at all.

Dethklok as co-headliners is fucking shameful. Apart from that it's a pretty kickin' bill. Converge usually come by my neck of the woods on tour, I'll try and get down there next time.

I'd go see that in Vancouver or Seattle if it were Mastodon and Converge. Don't think I want to if Converge are only gonna play for half an hour.

I think with the Dethklok tours it's always played up as if it was the show where they are the greatest band of all time having sold the most records of all time ever yada yada. So it's all part of the gimmick perhaps? Not to mention it'd be weird going from a live act to the cartoon show they put on back to a live act.

Wacken '09 .. wackeeeeeeeeeeeeeen!

Just got home.

Iommi and Dio are still gods, Testament is still one of the best live thrash outfits, Volbeat is probably the next big thing, Nevermore is really fricken tight, some frontmen were intimidated by the crowds, and a lot of black metal just doesn't work that well live.

That, and I need to learn some German.
