You're too young to be drinking! Leave this thread immediately!

Guinness is not the beer to drink if you want to get started.

Neither is American beer, but for a completely different reason.

Detroit actually has quite a few different breweries. My personal favorite is the Detroit Brewing Company, because unlike a lot of other breweries (ie. the Woodward Avenue Brewery), it actually has both great beer and GREAT FOOD!!! ::eats some cheezy breadsticks::

You could definitely do worse than Guiness. But if you really want mainstream beer at its best, I'd recommend something like Samuel Adams.

Well, I don't do the whole process, I brew with starter kits, not with grain. But it's funny.

One page, for your info (in spanish), with info and a shop (only in Spain, sorry).
http://www.cervezas.info/

But I'm sure you could find a Homebrewers association in Mexico.

... How'd I miss this thread?

I normally drink Weihenstephaner Hefeweißbier , although I alternate between liking the Hefe and Dunkel versions. In the winter I tend to like drinking something a little stronger, like a Doppelbock.

Of course most people would associate Bremen being the site of the Beck's brewery, and some of their beers are very nice, like the Kräusen variety, but the stuff that most of you know isn't worth pouring down the sink.

If I'm going out to drink, however, I tend to go to a local brewpub which serves up some very fine, quaffable beers.

Doppelbock is good for all year round, I find. Had a Andechser Doppelbock Dunkel yesterday. Good stuff.

Shamefully, I didn't even know Becks made anything other than the standard stuff you see regularly at the supermarket. I just always wrote their beer off entirely unless it was the only thing available. I'll have to try out Kräusen whenever I have the opportunity.

Ah, yes, that's a very nice Doppel. I just mentioned 'in the winter' because I tend to like drinking a lighter, more refreshing beer in the summer, like the aforementioned Hefe or even a nice, hoppy Pils.

It's actually marketed as Haake-Beck Kräusen, but it's brewed in the same factory. That aside, Kräusen is a very tasty beer with some creamy qualities and a nice amount of hops. Some people taste some woodiness in it.

Prost!

There's a dark beer called the Back Hand of God that gets me every time at the pub I usually go to.

Indeed as well as some Quebecois ones like Maudite (awesome name and based on an equally awesome legend, in addition to having an awesome label) and La Fin du Monde.

There was a beer they made in Ontario for 06.06.06 called Route 666, I think it was. The slogan was "The Devil Made Me Brew It", which I found quite amusing since I tend to find such cheesy things amusing :P Anyways, the beer itself was nothing special, but I did go out of my way to buy it a few times just because of the name

These beers are imposible to find in Spain :(
It's easy to find euro beers, but not (good) overseas beers.
