I would argue that my SLAYER shoes are a musically related purchase, but okay. Let's say my SLAYER shoes have nothing to do with metal.

If you continually insist on being this petty regarding my post, I will, in turn, treat you with the same level of respect.

You had better not post anything even mildly inappropriate in any thread, because if you do, I will call you out on it and expose you for the hypocrite you are.

I don't wear jeans at all. Last time I wore a pair was almost 2 years ago to an after prom party. It was weird, cause I was the oldest one there.

 @ the two different conversations going on here.

Thrashtil, I wear band merch; I have an Emperor tee on RITE THIS SECOND. But shoes that have Slayer on them? Just seems a little extreme, not to mention they probably cost the earth. What's the point? Show your appreciation for a band by wearing the t-shirts, but don't swallow any commercialist crap they throw at you. It's as ridiculous as someone wearing Green Day shoes would be; just because the band is Slayer doesn't make it OK.

Yeah, but, believe it or not, I don't have a single metal t-shirt.

I have a couple of Led Zep t-shirts, and a guns n roses t-shirt that I got when I saw them in 2007, if those count. But aside from those, I don't have any.

So one pair of shoes hardly seems extravagant. Not when so many metal heads have an entire wardrobe full of band shirts.

And they cost $AU119.95 which converts to 60 british pounds. Keep in mind that I haven't bought a pair of shoes in 2 years (I wear sandals year round. Well, not anymore!).

Context is everything, and I believe in my case that this was a fairly reasonable purchase.

EDIT: I mean a reasonable purchase in terms of the cost. As for style, you are entitled to your own opinion. So is Lucifer's Son. I just wish he wouldn't express it with such audacious arrogance.

I have $40 ...And Justice for All Chuck Taylor's. I love 'em.

I own a lot and a lot of band shirts. I like when I get recognized for them. This usher lady at the theater recognized my Mastodon shirt and we talked about Crack the Skye for five minutes.

Yeah I guess. I saw your shoes and chose mine over them. The AJFA cover is so epic on your feet.

Just bought Evangelion. The digipak is so so pretty. The guitar seems more intense as well.

Nothing would surprise me about that "man". Tits, a spare penis, a second head Zaphod-style, etc.

Just put in an amazon (uk) order:

Oldies:
Slaughter - Strappado (Remastered/Expanded)
Nuclear Assault - Game Over
Nuclear Assault - Handle With Care

Newbies:
Municipal Waste - Massive Aggressive
Artillery - When Death Comes
At War - Infidel

Now we play the excruciating waiting game!

Oh, and in case you were wondering, Lucifer's Son, this will take my thrash collection to 150.

Just got

At War - Infidel

in the mail

fuck me! this kicks all the new thrash bands ass, this is the way thrash metal should be done.

Definitely in my top 5 at the end of the year.

It's like they didn't take 22 years between albums.

Those trainers with band shit on them make my fucking blood boil, they are gay to the umpteenth degree. But if you wanna wear em, thats cool. It's just that I won't. And if I ever see someone I know wearing them Ill ridicule them.

Bad Religion - No Control. If you've heard one BR album, you've pretty much heard them all.

Pretty much. But they're all very good.
