Atari Lynx, nice one Goat. Tell him to bring a Game Gear, or better yet, a Virtual Boy while you're at it.

Seriously though Thomas, PSP and DS both have enough awesome games to keep you busy for quite a while. Can't really speak to iPod touch since I don't have one.

Hey, recently installed a final version of Windows 7. Anyone else checking it out? For being Windows, and I can't stress that fact enough, it looks promising. Wonder how the game performance will be.

OK, IGN seems to be fond of them. Once again though, I feel the need to reiterate that these extra parts are free, so it only makes sense for me to get the PS3 version. Multiple console ownership FTW.

Just sayin...

LOL. Virtual Boy. Pathetically, I actually remember WANTING one of those when it came out. Of course, at the time, I was such a big Nintendo fanboy that I wanted pretty much anything with the Nintendo brandname on it. Ahhhhhh, those were the days.

This man speaks the truth.Best of both worlds,I have been multi-console since the NES and Sega Master System and early PC ala IBM and Commodor.Only this is the first gen I'm taking a little break after the (near)countless 360's I've gone through. That and I don't game as much as I used to.

This is awesome news. I actually never got to play either of those games, so my God of War experience is limited to the PSP game at this point. I hope they start doing this with other games since they nixed backwards compatibility.

My guess is they must've realised how well the Metroid Prime Anthology got hyped (and hopefully sold) and are trying it for themselves.

I bloody hope it happens more often though!

Looks like an upgraded version of the CoD4 engine, doesn't it? Looks bloody nice in any case, although the shields could be a bit lame... They were in CS:CZ.

I finally finished The Wind Waker yesterday. I'm now going to begin playing The Twilight Princess and Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic.

Wait: The PS3 is no longer compatible with PS2 games?

And yes, God Of War is awesome. Although I've only played the original.

Hardware changes, which leaves software emulation to do the work. This takes lots of resources, time, effort, money and patience that just isn't worth it.
Plus they are still selling PS2s.

You may still be able to find a used one for sale that has backwards compatibility, but anything made in the last two years or so, including the slim, don't have it. That was one of their cost shedding maneuvers. Plus, like Zeth pointed out, the PS2 still sells pretty well, so they didn't want to make it obsolete.

That's pretty sucky of them, though. Imagine having to buy an old computer if you wanted to play Half Life or something.

We bought mortal kombat 2 for SNES. Amazing.

I currently have the character selection music for MK1 as my ringtone.
Awesome.

Actually, you probably WOULD need to buy an old computer to play Half Life. Or at least buy a second hard drive with Windows No-Later-Than-XP installed on it.

Nice dude,KotoR is a fuckin classic game!!!One of my absolute favorites, and number 2 is up there.

PS3 BC may be coming back in a form of emulation,I saw a few screenshots of the emulator running on PS3 on IGNPS3 a while back, and Sony recently patented the Emotion Engine(PS2) for emulation,so here's hoping.Still,I'm not worrying, plenty other great games to play.Unfortunatly I dont like the GoW franchise, not because the violence but because it claims to be based on greek mythology and completely pisses all over it.That and I'm not a big fan of playing as guys in games so........

I recently re-installed Sacred 2 and Gothic 3 on my kickass computer so I've been having a ton of fun on those.Moreso than the first time actually.
