The problem with this record IMO is that it's too obviously a stop-gap release. The production is insanely boring, and the band just doesn't sound very passionate about what they're doing, despite Kerry King's claims before its release. I agree, though, that a "classic metal" cover album (as was originally intended) would've been an even big trainwreck. And do we really need YET ANOTHER band covering Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin? As much as I love those two bands, one can only hear so many different versions of Immigrant Song and Smoke On The Water before going insane.

I do, however, like the song Gemini. Granted, it's a little unorthodox for a Slayer song (in fact, it sounds more like a Marilyn Manson song). But, nonetheless, I enjoy it.

Slayer has always had punk in their system and this proves tha they can do it with the attitude it requires. As far as "Guilty of Being White" goes, that is an anti racist song if you pay attention to the lyrics.

I don't like punk much, but I thoroughly enjoyed this album. Maybe cos it's Slayer. I think Gemini is pretty good. Not exceptional, but not that bad either. Having a title of my zodiac sign might be the reason I have a soft corner for that song. I like the slow doomy feeling it has and just love Paul Bostaph's drumming in it.

Gemeni is boring? i think conceptually its one of slayer's deepest songs.
