So yes, this is an basic Halo affair, but it's still more fun than Halo 3 IMO. Have yet to try Firefight mode...

Hmm, and here I was thinking that Halo 3 was the best one yet

All thats been said about Halo is right in one way or another. Yes it did help evolve the FPS genre but I never really liked it back then despite that. And as long as I play with a controller rather than mouse of keyboard I'll never get the same control and immersion out of it.
Gears of War worked so well because of it's third-person angle and more cover focused gameplay. In it, I don't feel like the controls are holding me back as much, rather just personal skill.

Unfair to compare Crysis with Halo (1/2/3/ODST) though. It's a marvellous technical achievement and if you look past the big environments it's a very very different game altogether.

I finally bought Battlefield 1943 yesterday. Very fun multiplayer FPS. I can't wait 'til Serious Sam HD, Perfect Dark, Doom II and Quake Arena are also released on XBLA.

Wow, Quake on Xbox. I would SUCK at that

I'm awful at aiming with hand controls. Whenever I try some FPS on Xbox Live I get destroyed. Long live the mouse :P

It's a port of Quake III Arena, but with a ton of new maps (in addition to the originals). And, I presume, XBLA achievements. I hope it allows for modding from the XNA community. That would be sweet.

Yeah, Lunar 2 I may ask for for Christmas. I actually changed my mind about my in-between video game purchases. I think, next month, I'll buy Ready 2 Rumble Boxing (the original) for the Dreamcast. And the following month, I'll buy NBA Showtime: NBA On NBC for the same system.

My favorite game of all time.. got it on release (for the playstation) back in '99. And still play it to this day, must have beaten it at least 6 or more times and restarted and stopped halfway about another 10. It came out originally in 1997 and still I find its battle/level up system to be the best of any rpg, even the sequels it spawned (while cool in their own way) don't have as cool a level up system. Plus I love it's cheesy adventure storyline, not everything has to be dark.

I love it too, it's just so much fun to play, it's probably my favorite game on the DS. I mean, playing as Bowser is kickass and the 2D sections inside Bowser is just amazing, and the writing in this game is absolutely hilarious!! I take my hat off for Alpha Dream, they did outstanding work this time around! :dio:

At the house, right? You should get the hang of the rhythm of their fire, and don't ever let them charge you!

Yeah. Dodging, swearing and shotgun alt-fire seem to be doing the job so far, the first two stayed back thankfully so I could throw lots of grenades.

When it comes to Half-Life 2 and it's expansions, not many other games impress me as much. It is just so extremely well designed. Valve has a Blizzard-like attention for detail and it shows in all aspects. Episode 3 is going to be amazing, I just know it.

And then one day, when the stars align, the sun shines and there's peace on earth, Black Mesa Source will finally arrive and it will be a wet dream come true
