indeed the first album they produced under that label, the cocksure Ithyphallic, was a disappointment in many ways.

Painfully true.

A great review. I wasn't sure whether or not to purchase this one, after said disappointment. I thought Nile had lost it... but the song I heard on their Myspace sounded great, and it seems to have your highest reccommendation. So I'll go for it.

This is one hell of an album I must say. Very glad to see Nile back in action!

I might say that thing what you alluded to if I listened to Nile or metal anymore, neither of which I do.

Too many penises in the review

Great album. I didn't think the penis album was that bad as people thought it was but this is certainly better than that. Kem Kesha Something is the best song I've heard this year.

I couldn't help myself, I'm afraid.

Penis album (as I shall now refer to it) did grow a little but it was still yawnsome.

Good review Zad!I thought the phallic puns were ammusing.Coming from a disappointed mega-fan of NIle with Ithyphallic(thought it does have a few great moments) being a bit of a heartbreaker, this new album is a huge comeback imho.I try not to be a fanboy but this album is intense and brings back alot of the stuff I love about Nile.Great riffs, samples, technicality, brutality and solo's galore!Hittite Dung Incantation is incredible, the wails and chants really made me look over my shoulder thinking people were behind me!

With so many rediculously amazing albums this year I am hardpressed to even think of making my year end list, but Nile is probably going to take top honors, though Hypocrisy is right up there........and Gorod and Augury and Obscura and Centaurus-A and....... :dio:

Exactly what I thought.

I'll have to pick this up, the track on their myspace sounds badass.

So far I'm really digging this. Modern Tech Death that isn't incredibly wanky and forgettable.

What's wrong with Nile? They're lightyears ahead of the myriad of Suffocation-clones out there.

We DON'T care, that's the point. If we wanted to know how much metal you don't listen to, we'd ask. I'm under the impression this forum is for people who actually care about the music.

Let's not feed the silly troll anymore? :)

Back on track then...

This album just grows for each time I listen to it. Will be in my top 3 no doubt. Loving the fast growls on it too! Can't wait to hear this live!

Why do you linger, DM? To force-feed your marxist propaganda to other forumites?

Doesn't matter. He removed the hammer, but still has the sickle.
