Don't know if this is old news, but here it is anyway:

http://mma.fanhouse.com/2009/10/02/forr ... -next-uf/#

Quote:
AH: Did it bother you to hear people criticize your post-fight reaction?

FG: Nah, that's the first time I've ever heard it. This is going to blow you away, but I haven't watched the fight or talked about it.
This guy actually asked me a good question the other day, and this is a real story and I really like it: first off, he was very confrontational; I didn't like him much to begin with, and he goes, 'Hey, man, I have to know,' because it's his business to know, 'why did you run out of the cage that night after the Silva fight?' And I said, 'Look, man, I haven't told anybody, let's keep this on the down low, but the truth is your mom was waiting for me in the back to suck my d***, and you know how good of a b*** j** your mom gives, so I didn't want to be late for that sh**.' And that's pretty much the answer I give. I like that answer, so I'll give that answer to everyone.

Comes off as kind of an ass, IMO... barring a dislocated jaw or hearing loss (the two unconfirmed rumors swirling around his post-fight sprint) him bawling and running reeks.

He's been a real prick about anything to do with that loss. Forrest isn't the same guy anymore, it seems. He used to be very gracious to his fans, and now he's scathing.

Unless Tito somehow expanded his game, I think Forrest can take the fight... Even though he's not really a finisher and Ortiz has no problem going the distance. I'll watch it.

I agree. The more I learn about Rampage, the less I like him. He treats women very strangely that interview him ( Do some google ) he has a very sour and childish attitude towards things, he makes dumb comments, and he's an absolutely terrible coach. I feel bad for his team.

I used to be a big fan of his back in Pride, but that was before you could really get a more personal profile on him as this was back like 2003-2004 ish... So I just knew Rampage the fighter. This was back when he was dynamic, would strike and GnP, and now I just can't stand his attitude and he's so one dimensional now it's ridiculous. Really I'm more annoyed that he's not developed into a stronger fighter than anything else.

Yeah, Sylva fucked with his mind.

Saw that Rampage interview (one of the reasons I can't stand the guy)... honestly who in their right mind would do such a thing?
That's something I'd expect from an ill mannered dog, not a grown man.

Anyway, I agree about Tito / Griffin, unles Sylva stole Griffin's will to fight, along with his happy-go-lucky constitution.

lol my favorite on the Joe Rogan one is the life time fan club thing for Randy. I always crack up thinking about when Randy beat Chuck in the first fight and Rogan is like " THAT GUY IS MY HERO ".

Haha.

UFC 104 this weekend, pick time.

I thin kI will go with Machida over Shogun, just don't know how.

I also want to go with Valasquez, but I need to do some more homework on Rothwell, who is no pushover.

As for the other fights, well like the Valaquez-Rothwell fight, I need to do my homework.

what are your guys picks?

Machida
Rothwell
Neer
Fisher.
The rest, I don't really know about.

Machida, even though I'd love to see Shogun win.
Rothwell vs Cain, I dunno. I'm going with Rothwell.
Tibau over Neer
Joe Daddy over Fisher, unless he's retarded and stands with him or something.
Yoshida over Rumble
Darth Bader over Schaefer
Hardonk over Berry
Okami over Sonnen

I like this card. It's not an amazing marquee card or something, but there's some solid fights that have some good names behind them. Can't wait.

Would anyone who watched the fights last night like to explain to me how Machida won the fight? He didn't do anything at all, period. Shogun edged him.

If Shogun edged him, then clearly Machida did more than you say he did. However, he did lose.

Rogan's blatant Rua nut-hugging was disgusting. Never once did either of them mention the hard straight lefts Machida was landing when Rua landed those kicks. Just nonsense.

Either way, I had Rua winning four rounds, but Machida didn't just take a beating. Rua landed kicks; Machida landed punches. Depends on what judges look at, I guess. I could see someone giving Machida two rounds, but giving him three just seems impossible.

Did you see Dana White, after the fight, go up to Rua and say, "You won that fight"?

Rua played a very technical game that didn't allow Machida to capitalize as he has on past opponents. The reason I say Machida didn't do much, is because of the way Rua fought. I had Rua winning the fight 4 rounds to 5, as you, and it's ridiculous ROBBERY that Machida was given the V. Had he tried to actually go out and win the fight I don't think I'd be so annoyed, I know he's a counter fighter, but he has always been selectively aggressive. It seemed as if that was missing in this fight.

I believe Goldie mentioned that Joe was only speaking of one fighter, but Rogan is no Shogun nuthugger. Joe just goes off on tangents about certain fighters in fights, that's just how he is. But I think he was prompted, as well, because Shogun was being the aggressor and trying to pick apart Machida, who seemed content to hang back and mount no offense.

Shogun had the more successful offense, he landed more strikes, he maintained octagon control and was aggressive. These are criteria that is used to score a fight. Striking, grappling, aggression, and Octagon control. All which were in favor of Shogun.

Oh, and I was very disappointed with Okami. Did he just not bother to show up last night? Sonnen is an elite level fighter, but Okami should have been able to manhandle him. Sometimes, he just seems to hang back and let things happen. I don't understand that style of fighting.

And I guess I need to stop picking favorites. Freakin' Rothwell and Hardonk.

I had it 4-1, Shogun, but three of those rounds were very close. I still don't think they were close enough to give the fight to Machida, but whatever. Rua won on kicks, Machida won on punches. He wasn't terrible at all. Rua simply beat him.

Not to get all fancy schmancy, but Rua outstruck Machida just about 2-1. Add this in with his aggressiveness and control of the Octagon, I just don't see how Machida wins it in the mind of any judge that is familiar with MMA.

http://fightmetric.com/fights/Machida-Shogun.html

It doesn't separate punches from kicks so the shots to the body/head could be debated, but I still believe he threw more punches in the end. Not by a large margin or anything.

What a dumb website. Machida CLEARLY won round 1. Cannot be argued. Yet, according to what I'm seeing there (if my quick glance had me understanding properly), Rua essentially dominated round 1, and the whole fight for that matter. Didn't happen.

I read somewhere that even though Shogun lamded more shots, Machida landed more potential fight ending shots. But I agree with both of you, Rua should of won.

Now I just hope the Velasquez continues to dominate, and if he does, him vs. Lesnar would be great.

Also, Dana White says he has halted conversations with Dan Henderson, Hendo expected to sign with Strikeforce.

Brock Lesnar has not been able to train for 3 weeks due to illness, so his title defence against Shane Carwin at UFC 106 has been pushed back to UFC 108. So far no replacement fight has been announced for UFC 106.
