Glad to see I've been an influence, Zad! ;)

Anyway, I also love this album. I'd say it's my second favorite Anthrax album (with my favorite being Persistence Of Time). My favorite song is probably Packaged Rebellion. But pretty much every song kicks ass. Only, 1000 Points Of Hate (a song that actually calmed me down when I was angry at the school I used to TA at for being so disorganized), Black Lodge, Sodium Pentathol (another personal fave for its awesome punk-like riff and cool guitar solo), and This Is Not An Exit.

My only complaint with this review is that I'd have also mentioned Bello's rather interesting use of the bass guitar in Burst. Otherwise, spot on!

I'd give the album an 87/100. While POT gets a 90/100 from me.

ROOM FOR ONE MORE!!1

This is one of my first albums from the band, the music is kind tame considering how fun their older albums were. But it makes for a nice spin once in a while

Not that good. My first 'Thrax album. Packaged Rebellion, This Is Not An Exit and that chemistry track are really good, but like all Anthrax songs, they have some annoying parts in them. The music is exceptional and I like the build up of Potter's field and the drums blasting in. I give it an occassional listen.

I like John Bush better with Armored Saint. Never really liked anything they did after Joey b. left.

excellent review!

I think exactly like Seinfeld26. POT being my favorite, Sound of white noise comes second. What a great and underrated album

bah! Anthrax was never that good. This is a perfect example of why.

It is Thrash. Might not be At War Thrash, but it is Thrash.

I beg to differ. This is more rock/grunge-metal with some thrashy moments here and there (such as in Potter's Field and 1000 Points Of Hate). There's also a punk influence in places.

(glad to see the proxy I just built is working correctly)

Eh,Grungey-influenced Thrash, more like. I nearly called it that in the genre tag but it sounds rather silly, and if Death Metal with Jazzy bits is still Death Metal, why can't Thrash Metal with Grungey bits still be Thrash?

it's not thrash, sorry. Anthrax hasn't been thrash since 1990.

I wouldn't call this thrash either, but its not as bad of an album as some make it out to be. I still listen to certain songs (1000 Points of Hate, Black Lodge) from time to time.

and the worst part I think is even when the tempol isnt like their old albums, I don't think John Bush had really any positive effect on the music..

I hear you. It's not like he made them suck, they just wrote sucky songs to fit his voice.

So they wrote sucky songs to fit his voice means sucky songs fit his voice means his voice fits sucky songs means his voice sucks. Did I get it right?

just listen to room for one more, the music is ok but his voice just seems really out of place

I have this album... got it years and years ago but couldn't get into it whatsoever and now it's buried in a pile somewhere. Maybe I'll give it another go.

Not just that one song, but most of the album it does. I do like some of Anthrax with John Bush though, Safe Home and Nothing are pretty good. He isn't that bad, but I don't like it when he makes his voice harsh. That's his style and that's what I have a problem with. I like his clean vocals.
