It calculates all the strikes made in the fight, how is it dumb? lol. Those stats and Compustrike stats are referenced on numerous MMA related sites.

Here's the compustrike results for the fight, which is just like fight metric, which break down the strikes and takedowns/attempts round by round, which has Rua ahead in round one. Technically he was only behind in the second round.

http://compustrike.com/stats_files/ufc_ ... da-Rua.HTM

By the way, the UFC has been quoting Compustrike or Fightmetric stats in hype shows and what have you. I just can't remember which and google isn't pulling anything up.

These are facts and while it was a close decision, Shogun did more work and accomplished more. On top of this he was aggressive and controlled the pace.

I'm a bit bitter about the whole Lesner/Carwin thing. I was hoping Shane would KO that douche. It's my birthday, it would be somewhat sentimental to me. What a shame it's being postponed. I think Shane should just ride it out until the actual fight, unless he absolutely has to fight. I don't know what the conditions are of his contract or whatever.

Dana White said that as soon as a re-match can happen, it will.

A Carwin-Velasquez fight would be good, but if that happened it probably wouldn't be until into the new year. Who else could Carwin fight?

It's been postponed, apparently, until 1/02/10.
Heard Ortiz / Griffin is the main event for 106.

Just like the Motorhead review, I beat you to it. Go back to the last page of this thread.

I'm asking if Carwin needs to fight at UFC 106, what are his options? But if it is at UFC 108, like I read, and they don't change the 108 fight card then UFC 108 will be awesome. Silva vs. Belfort and Lesnar vs. Carwin? Yes please.

D'oh!
I don't know... is it too soon for Minotauro?

Give him Kimbo, you know he's beaming with his hands in the air, saying"YES!!!", like he just scored a touchdown, and is probably tweeting Dana as we speak.

I think Carwin should take it easy until he has to fight Brock.

And who knows what Lesnar's deal is about being " Sick " for 3 weeks. Or whatever. I don't know a lot of fighters that would back out at this point, regardless of how sick they were, unless it was some sort of serious body injury that wouldn't heal in time for the fight... Shit... Even then most fighter's take the fights injured. lol

I think Ortiz/Griffin 2 is a pretty silly fight, btw.

I reall wanted Coleman vs. Ortiz. Both are 1 dimensional fighters, but it would probably be a war. Like the Bonnar-Coleman fight, that was crazy.

I've been bitching about Compubox for years for the same reason I'll bitch about these: it's done by people, and people are dumb, corrupt, drunks, easily distracted, etc.

Just look at referees, and you'll understand why these stat calculations aren't anything to put stock in.

Anybody going to get the Fedor fight this weekend? I've got the day off so does my friend so I am pretty sure I am going to get it. Looking forward to some of the other fights to like Mousasi.

and lol at Bob Sapp

Yeah. It's free for us here in the states. I'm pretty excited, it's Fedor's debut on national TV here in the US, and I'm pretty sure he's going to smash Rogers in a matter of minutes. There's no way that Rogers will even come close to doing anything to Fedor at all.

There's some other good fights on the card, as well. I'm looking forward to Miller/Shields probably the most after the Fedor fight. I'm hoping Mayhem hasn't let it all hang out on MTV and still has something to bring to the cage, he's a great fighter.

I can't remember the rest of the card but it's pretty darn good for a non UFC card.

I like how the UFC is airing a whole night of main events on Spike just to be assholes.

Couture vs. Nogeuira
Silva vs. Griffin
Penn vs. Florian
and the 4th one I can't think of right now.

and damn you americans and getting it for free. We have to pay like 40$ to see it here.

Yeah. The UFC always does that with any other major event going on. I'm still watching CBS though for Fedor.

Mousasi vs Sokoudjou is gonna be on the card, too. I got Mousasi by murder.

As for Antonio Silva vs Werdum, I'm going with Silva. I don't think Werdum is gonna be able to weather the storm to land a sub.

I think I might watch Couture/Nog again. That's such an amazing fight. Definitely a legends bout.

Also, I recently watched Dream 12. I really recommend DLing that off the torrent site I told you about, Dev. It's a sick card. Lots of great fights, and yet another head kick KO from Marius Zaromskis!

Only thing is, it starts at 9 which interferes whith Hockey. Never interfere with a Canadian and his hockey. I guess I can have both channels on recall...

Was a good fight, I watched it live but had to look it up again. Fedor did take some good shots and still kept that same look on his face that he has in interviews. It's great. His face is covered in blood, he takes a beating and his expression never changes.

Could he take Lesnar?

He'd probably wreck Lesnar. I still think Fedor is overrated, though. Dude is great, don't get me wrong, but weigh the hype against the competition. He's not the greatest ever.

I agree with that. Add in that he only fights like once a year, and that gives you a formula for a terribly overrated fighter. But I sure as hell would love him in the UFC. And he did put on a good show, came back form at least 1 spot that could of ended the fight.
