Did you win a raffle or something?

I'm getting mine on the way home from work today.

Do you mean the VATS thing or whatever it's called. It makes the game easy, no matter what difficulty you're playing. I wouldn't use it if I were you.

But you can literally render people 'armless! Chasing raiders around a supermarket with a baseball bat is hilarious fun when you're drunk and high. And in the game too!

I'll try it without, but it is an RPG so playing it run-and-gun style seems a bit silly. Especially since you seem to get more XP when using it.

Oh well, someone got to open those locked boxes, might as well be my character...

Haha nice man, I hear that. I can't tell you how many freakin' chests I couldn't open cause my party were larsonally challenged(lol stupid word I know). I'm not a major completionist by any means but knowing I could be missing out on some phat loot bugs the hell out of me. I loved in KotoR how I was able to put up security and whathaveyou for insurance on my main character.

Yeah KotoR made it work. And If I remember correctly, you could bash the hell out of boxes in Neverwinter Nights, or cast a spell on them to force it open.
But still, Dragon Age is terrific. I'm not sure I have time for any other games in the next few weeks, with Modern Warfare 2 and all.

Ok, it wasn't 100% free. But I traded in some older games which actually were worth more than the retail price of the regular version of MW2. So, after trading in my 3 games I was up 22$ and put that towards a pre-order of Assassins Creed 2.

The games I traded in were:
Mass Effect
Prototype
Mario Baseball for the Wii

My friend traded in several games and got it for 8.75$. He traded in:
Call of Duty 4
Gears of War 2
NHL 2K8
NHL 09
FEAR
Hitman Blood Money

it's funny because his game collection is now cut in half just so he could get MW2.

That what pisses me off about Gamestop and its monopoly on the games industry. There is no regulation on games since its so new and no one has taken them to court and thusly they charge us out the ass for these games which are often in shitty condition and "if" they have money on hand they will buy our used games but at a terrible loss to the consumer. Their system of value is rediculous as well as the honesty of the employee, who have charged "cleaning" fees on supposed damaged discs and cases when in reality my shit is damn near mint condition. I have been ripped off by them far to often. They offered me barely 7.50 for my Mass Effect Collector's edition and everybody at the store clerk and customer were telling me they'd buy it off me if I didn't trade it in. I kept it instead. I traded in Dirt 2 only a few months old and it got me 15 bucks.

I swear if my sister didn't work there...... haha. She's a key holding manager and pretty much keeps me informed on any updates lol, but I tend to not care too much since I scour the web alot. She's told me how they lie about stock and not buying games due to being "shorthanded" in the drawers, but its really just the regional and store managers decision. Sucks. I get more money at flea markets for my games and people know it down here which is cool, I can't tell you how many new/ish games that are in near mint condition and are dirt cheap. It draws big crowds but sells out quickly, I recently sold my imported ds lite which is how I could afford Ratchet, Uncharted and Dragon Age. Bitch bitch bitch I know!

@ Azrael: Nice dude! That game is a classic, I was a mere teen when it came out but damn that was some fun times. Are you playing it on a new comp? Like is it compatible with Vista?

@ Rhys: Mega Hails for that man, FFIV is one of my favorite FF's, I played it as a kid and I cried so much and the soundtrack is beautiful. Numero 9 is my favorite though.

@ Zeth: Haha that must be funny in NWN bashing the crates in. I never got the chance to play it. I was tempted to get the second edition's boxed set but I backed of because of space restraints. You'll have to tell me how MW2 is man, are you getting it for PC or console?

That was annoying as fuck in NWN. It was overall a pretty shitty game for Bioware standards. Even NWN2 is kind of meh. Anyway, with Dragon Age I like the fact that I don't have to run through hundreds of pointless dungeons that are filled with locked chests that contain some shitty traps or potions that I'll never use.

Haha nice. What is FM 2010? Is it a football manager game? Man I still need to get back and finish The Witcher, its just when I have to play a specific character in an rpg I tend to not like it, so I have a hard time playing it. I'd rather be something closer to who I am or what I find attractive. Anywho that's some serious game time right there, have fun mang!

Yeah, bashing only worked if you had the right stats or something for it (I think), and even then it would not be 100% on all crates so I remember using one skill point for branching into the sorcerer-tree to get an offensive spell just for boxes. It was rather weird when I come to think of it. I enjoyed NWN, but it had lots of faults. Dragon Age sucks me into the world on an whole other level. I spend the majority of time just talking around and getting to know my companions. *spoilers ahead*
And dare I say my Dalish female elf have become quite acquainted with Lieana, so to speak. Lesbian love by the camp fire - now that's gaming at it's best. Aaaww ye.

Modern Warfare 2 is installed and ready to go on the PC when I have some spare time for it.

On another gaming note. I've become interested in getting a PSP, and probably install a custom firmware on it as well (makes it possible to play emulators and so on). Anyone got one of those things?

Funny how this Dragon Age thing seems to have just run with the sex from Mass Effect in a fantasy landscape. Reviews I've read have been pretty poor...

We need more sex in (non-porno) games, and I don't mean oversized jugs and big biceps, I mean actual proper sex and love elements. All the other entertainment forms have been used to it for many years now, why should it still be taboo in games? I'm glad we are finally catching up. Maybe one day people can take games as seriously as any other media and we will be able play through really deep and emotional storys.

Probably down to games still being seen as kids' business. Besides, considering how nerds currently view sex in games, it might be a good thing if there's less of it.
