We need more sex in (non-porno) games, and I don't mean oversized jugs and big biceps, I mean actual proper sex and love elements. All the other entertainment forms have been used to it for many years now, why should it still be taboo in games? I'm glad we are finally catching up. Maybe one day people can take games as seriously as any other media and we will be able play through really deep and emotional storys.

Yeah. Love is often hinted at in games, but it's never explored because the developers don't know where to go with it. It's not perfected in Dragon Age, but I think the fact that you can spend a lot of time just talking to your party members pretty amazing.

Probably down to games still being seen as kids' business. Besides, considering how nerds currently view sex in games, it might be a good thing if there's less of it.

How progressive. They gotta start somewhere don't they? :)

To some degree I'm sure that's true. But considering all the genuine ideas and advancements developers have done over the years, it can't be the sole excuse anymore.
From a big development group of, I dunno, 100 people, surely SOMEONE would have a clue how sex works. They are are probably afraid of taking a mass media suicide and labeling the game as perverted and filthy. Murder and violence is standard, but love isn't

It is handled dreadfully when it does appear. Mass Effect, for instance: I was trying to keep my karma rating high so was being polite to everyone. The next thing I know that creepy blue-haired alien woman was trying to throw herself on me! Outrageous.

I think games and sex are just doomed to fail, partly because gamers don't really play looking for big romantic storylines.

However, considering that most games target an audience of young males with a lack of sunlight exposure and too much time on their hands... porn might do the trick.

Like someone said earlier, I think they're too scared of offending. Wasn't there a big fuss when ME came out?

Well, games are so mainstream today that anyone can be a gamer without being labeled a nerd. I do think there are a lot of gamers that look for stories like that. Maybe not exclusively about romance, but it could make up a part of the story. I think most people who play games like Baldur's Gate or Planescape Torment would appreciate things like that.

The Fox News outcry against the sex in the first Mass Effect was hilarious. Watch this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKzF173GqTU

Cooper Lawrence is a joke. I think the ratings and comments section of her book listing on Amazon was raided after that telecast by angry nerds.

I think Fox learned their lesson though, since I don't remember hearing any bitching out of them about either of the GTA IV expansions.

I remember seeing a clip from just a couple days ago where they got all up-in-arms about Modern Warfare 2 going "OMFG U CAN PLAY AS TEH TERRORISTS AND KILL AMERICANS"

And then they had some crackpot who calls himself a psychologist come on and say "IT'S PRETTY CLEAR THAT VIOLENCE IN VIDEO GAMES CAUSES VIOLENT BEHAVIOR IN CHILDREN IN REAL LIFE."

It's unbelievable how the get away with this shit.

I bought modern warfare 2.
I'm god awful at FPS, however I want to get awesome at this.
My boyfriend has been playing it a lot. It's my first experience with online play as well, I love hearing dudes with the microphones. Hilarity ensues.

But when i'm not practicing, i've been playing Chrono Trigger for SNES.

Finally got around for some Modern Warfare 2 action on the PC. First of all, I was never really impressed with the first one. Yes I might have been hit on the head with something, but in my eyes it was just endless waves of respawning enemies coming in your general direction all the time. No contrast, no momentum, just guns blazing 24/7. And then there was some story to it as well, huh?

MW2 handles this much better. I have not gotten very far, but it feels like a more streamlined game this time around. The triggers and respawns aren't as visible. Good stuff, although I still wish there were more weight to the weapons so it actually felt like shooting someone. FEAR 2 handled that part great for example.

using a riot shield on the airport multiplayer level to block to entrance to the plane is uber awesome. the other people have no clue what to do and just waste their ammo.

Finished Uncharted 2 on crushing, i found it a little bit more easier than the first one, that or i got really good at it, but i gotta say this is one of the best games i've ever played, i was a huge fan of the first one but this one is even better, everything is improved: gameplay, cinematics, animations, controls, i played it three times in a row and i never got bored or found the need to skip any cutscenes, kudos at Naughty Dog for this awesome game.

Tried the multiplayer a few times and it was fun but multiplayer isnt really my thing so i guess i wont be playing that for long.

Right now there are three games that i cant wait to play: Dragon Age: Origins, Demon Souls and Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time, out of those three i only own Demon Souls and i will probably buy Dragon Age this week, but i wont be playing any of those because i got lots of games in my collection that i havent played yet, so right now im gonna start with Heavenly Sword.

Damn man you must be good. I don't know if want to try crushing yet, sounds tough. My main complaint for the multiplayer is the map design, they went with the modern easy way out of creating simple tight symmetric designs. This wouldn't be to bad if it weren't for most looking unatural & unfriendly to varied tactics. It is waaaay to easy for the vets to just run & gun everybody down and there is hardly any room to snipe, and what few maps actually sport a decent length there is never a sniper to be found. Just a personal complaint but it is ND's first online multiplayer game. great game though.

I finally got Ratchet and I LOVE it! So good, and at times downright gorgeous. At first I wasn't sure about Clanks missions & puzzles but they are fun and rewarding when I solve them and have some cool ideas. I love the more wide open ended style of game design this one employs, being able to fly around the galaxy is fantastic, I just hope then next game(if there is a next) lets us really fly our ship in full bliss. Some fantastic weapons in here too and of course the humour is still there. I am very pleased by this purchase, I have been wanting a great single player game and this delivers. I know I'll be replaying this one again a few times.

I'm with Zeth on the sex in games thing, and even playing imported japanese hentai games is nothing terrible. Some I found have some great stories to boot. I've been enjoying P40n since my Commodor 64 days lol. Black & White pixelated images FTW!

Aw, really? Picked up the 08 version for cheap and am having fun with that. Big step up from CM01/02. :D

Well it isn't so bad now that I played it a tad longer but it still is a big adjustment. So many features, so many messages and advices to ignore..it really takes the speed out of the game. Still a bunch improvements from 09 so I guess it's okay :)

Finished Modern Warfare 2 on the PC, hardened (hard on) difficulty or what it's called. Regular would have gone too fast, and even here it only took a few evenings. But it's not quantity that counts here, it's quality and there's loads of it. Aye, sometimes it feels more like a platformer where I have to stand in the right spot at the right time to succeed, rather than actually using skillz. Either you play it like it was meant to, or not at all. Not much room for improvisation. With that aside, overall I was pleased with the campaign and a few missions were just plain kick ass.

Also played a bit of Assassins Creed 2. Looks promising and the main character is slightly less irritating than Altaïr was. Thumbs up.

What are your thoughts on the Wii out of curiousity? I hope AC2 is great.

I've been playing my Xbox again alot lately, partly due to so few games on 360 & PS3 being co-op or even multiplayer, and I kind of miss the variety the last gen offered. If only I could have seen a sequel to Unreal Championship 2. Oddworld Stranger's Wrath is quite funny. Looking back on it, I can't believe how packed 2005 was for me, late 2004 saw Halo 2, Chronicles of Riddick, Deus Ex, SW Battlefront 2 and Fable IIRC then Mercenaries, UC2, Psyconauts, Jade Empire and then the 360 came out and it was incredible. I spent so much money haha. Its a shame MS tried to save a buck with such cheap parts, cause the 360 is a great system but after 9 failures I don't want to even touch another one for a couple years. Its funny though, my PS3 is sitting right above my Xbox, and it comes across as the spiritual successor, in both user freedom, business model and overall design. MS & Sony frickin switched places lol, each envious of the others market shares.

The Wii was great when I first got it, I played in quite a bit. But the lack of games got to be really annoying. There is only so many Mario games a person can play. I have not played my Wii in months, I plan on trading it in for another 360 with a bigger HD or a PS3.
