Granted, you were best during the two last periods, but I think we got the better of you in the first even though you led us. The Habs-goals were damn frustrating to watch, both should've been saved, and I actually thought our luck had turned. Shame that Legacy let that one in when he had so many excellent saves beforehand.

Carey Price is excellent at shootouts, but damn that Cullen attempt was really really lucky. Anyways, Leighton on the injury list as well, this is getting quite ridiculous.

Sutter was great again, if Mo can find a place for him at the same line as Whitney whenever Staal is back, that should be pretty awesome, they're great together, and I believe Sutter is our top goal-scorer along with Jokinen and Ruutu now.

And no offense Brahm, but I wasn't impressed

Ha, fair enough. I'm not impressed either. We've got a tough schedule over the next two weeks (Washington, Pittsburgh, Detroit, etc...) and I can't image us getting more than two wins, especially with Gionta now gone on long term injury. Both Carolina and Montreal have been battered the shit out of and are showing the consequences.

And yep, we got lucky as hell on that Cutter shot- he had completely beaten Price. And for the puck to be stopped by Price's skate, one or two inches from the goal line! Damn.

Ha, Cutter, Cullen, whatever. I'll forget his name by tommorow.

I just caught that Leighton was injured. I don't think they said what it is.

K, I really don't want the Leafs to be in last place for Boston draft related reasons. But Carolina's win tonight was hilariously awesome. Good on you, boys.

Crazy game, that's for sure. Felt a little bad for SO-rookie Gustie and that double minor on Whitey, but it's nice to see that we can have some luck as well. Loved the work ethic last night even though it was a grade A example of sloppy hockey through and through.

That double minor was funny because it was the teammates stick that hit the guy

Eeeh, what a lucky win for the Islanders tonight. 61 shots against? 12 by Kessel? Damn. Apparently taking Roloson was a good idea.

tied a club record with those 61 shots. Dwayne Rolosn literally stole that game for the Islanders.

John Mitchel and Vesa Toskala both hurt in the game, both placed on IR.

I really hope Staal is back tonight against the Ducks. The offensive effort against Dallas was fucking terrible, and reflected over our first twenty games more or less. Legace had a good game, and if it wasn't for him that arse Ott would've had 6 goals.

I'm not even getting pissed when we lose anymore. Last night was brutal. We deserved two points. Buffalo were shit, except for Miller, but you know. Once they get one wheel off, everything falls apart. Same goes for the Thrashers.

GO DRAFT PICK!

Heartbreaking shootout loss for my Habs against Washington on Saturday... Why Mara, why would you take a high sticking penalty with 15 seconds to go when you're up by one goal and facing ALEXANDER OVECHKIN. Whyyyyyyyy?

That being said, 6 points in our last give games, against very good teams (Washington twice, Pittsburgh, Detroit and Columbus). Definitely more than I was expecting. And though I may bitch about the Mara penalty, I am extremely happy with how the team is playing right now. We're consistently missing 8-9 players, including some of our best. Markov is obviously gone, but we lost Spacek for a few games, and along with Gill's long injury, that leaves quite the depleted defence. On offence, we've lost Gionta, who IMO may not be the most talented of our players but sure as hell is the most spirited and contributes a lot to the team even when he's not scoring goals (and he does score goals fairly often, which is nice). Gomez is gone. Andrei Kostitsyn got injured just as he was starting to get into a points groove. And then a few other forwards are out too.

So the fact that players like Hamrlik, Metropolit, Mara and Moen are really stepping up is good to see, especially on nights when it seems like half our team is filled with AHL players who I'd never heard of until two weeks ago. Of course, top credit goes to Cammie and Pleks for consistently producing and being at the top of their game. And Spacek, when he's not injured, has done some nice defensive work and is able to score a goal or two every now and then, which is nice.

So, I'm definitely not saying we're making it to the playoffs. But if we can continue at this pace, keep on trying hard and get most of our A players back by January, we definitely have a shot. If we can get 6 out of ten points these days with each defenceman playing 28 minutes and AHL forwards and defencemen all around, it does give me hope for the future, when Gionta and Markov and Gomez and all the rest return.

And in other news... ALS WON THE GREY CUP!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Damn, what a game.

Leafs are only 5 points behind Montreal! Even after we went 1-7-4 in October.

Shutting out the Habbies is always nice, especially during their birthday week. But losing Gustavsson with more heart problems is not nice, not nice at all.

But hey, what about Phil Kessel? Looks like he doesn't need Savard after all.
