We'll see what happens this week.. We have lots of time off, and JR have some nice time to make some decisions. A coaching change have been considered, but it's less likely to happen. So my guess is Whitney, Cullen or Cole gets traded, and Yelle, Ward, Conboy, and maybe Brindy is put on waivers.

Ha, this is looking more and more likely. Good job to Toronto for completely turning this around.

Seems like we'll be going for the draft pick alone then :P

Anyway, JR made a rather WTF trade last night. Our first-rounder Paradis for their Tulsy or whatever it was. GOt some more experience on his back but we'll see how that turns out. Was certainly not the trade I hoped to see, but we got a sniper in exchange for a 95mph nuke, and I don't know who's better.

So, Laviolette takes the wheel at Philly, does that mean that we still pay him?

Nope. His previous contract is completely canceled.

Dumbass move by Philly. I hate the fact that every time a team has a bad run, the kneejerk reaction is to fire the coach. It's not like Philly's doing awful either- sure, they're 3 out of their last 10, but they're only one point out of a playoff spot, and he's done great things for them these past three years.

Uhm, soooo, they just made JR the favour of the year? Because now he can afford to fire Maurice and get another one in... I never liked him, so it's not just because of this awful run.

Aaaaaah. No better way to cap off an hundredth anniversary than with a 5-1 win over the Bruins, in which Cammie gets the hat trick. Too bad Price couldn't get the shutout and Gionta is still out. Now let's please keep this whole "winning" thing up. And thankfully, this means there won't be any more hundredth anniversary celebrations! About goddamn time.

Go nucks!

Don't really mind losing since the your coach looked like he was going to kill himself after we scored the first goal lol

Well, dropped the game for a rather sucky date, but I was scared shitless when I sneaked into NHL and saw that we were up 4-1 and then suddenly it was 4-3.

Cole has been great lately, and Staal is assisting like never before. I think he has six in three. That's nice, but I'd like him to get on with his scoring as well.

It's not Tulsy, it's Jiri Tlusty. And I for one do not like the trade at all. Tlusty has been far beyond our best player in the AHL, playing on the top line and scoring almost every game. Problem is, he can never quite pull it together with the Leafs. I do not know much about Paradis, but I guess if he went in the 1st round, he must have something good going for him. I just find in to be counter productive trading away our 1st rounder from 06 for a 1st rounder from 09. Now we have to wait a couple more years for him to pan out. And knowing the Leafs luck, Tlusty will go on and be a 40 goal man, just like Brad Boyes.

Yeah, I'm kinda liking this trade more and more, Paradis was never expected to be drafted first anyways, and hasn't actually been tearing it up, so all in all this was an OK trade. Not the one I expected to see though.

The Kings are still going relatively strong. Man the Pacific Division is really tough this season, four teams are in a playoff spot right now (and have been most of the season) and the fifth team is the Anaheim Ducks who definitely are no push-overs.

Anze Kopitar who was leading the league in scoring with 30 something points in 20 games now hasn't had a goal in 12 games. He's on his longest goalscoring drought of his career. If he can get going to his early season form again the Kings will definitely be deadly. Right now they're having some secondary scoring but that's not gonna be enough to last the season. Special teams are crappy as well. Dustin Brown and Alexander Frolov, who usually get 25-35 goals, are on pace for less than 20. They need to get going. Luckily Drew Doughty and Wayne Simmonds are studs!

Go Kings!

Drew Doughty is so awesome and it sucks he didn't play for the Canadian juniors last year and obviously wont be there this year. It will be hard for him to crack the olympic team, but in a few years after guys like Pronger and Niedermayer are gone, it will be nice to see Doughty leading team Canada's break out.

It's incredible to think he's just turning 20. It's his second season and he's doing it all and with incredible poise. He might be the best young defenseman in the league and I definitely wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of Norris trophies in his future.

Leafs look stronger. Swapped between the two games during intermission in the Canes-game tonight. I like their style and wish we were attacking like that and not collapsing when we lead.

Anyway, happy we finally pulled a road win out of the hat, and I'm glad that it was against a team of Pittsburgh's caliber. Great effort. Staal is taking the playmaker role actually, notching at least two assists per game lately. I also liked that Brindy was scratched instead of Yelle. I think the team got the message.

Consistent game by the Canes. That's not often to be witnessed. Also Leighton has been waived. I feel bad for the guy.

Marty Brodeur tied Terry Sawchuk last night for most shutouts. They are both tied at 103. He will definitely pass and take sole possession of this later in the season. After the olympics, it will show if he truly is the greatest goalie ever.
