Another win for the Habs and Cammalleri score's his 17th goal of the season. I don't remember the last time a habs player had close to 20 goals before the christmas holidays. At this rate he's heading for a 40+ goal season!

Yep, not a bad three game streak we're on, all against conference/division rivals, and none of them went into overtime! I'm very happy. And I'm very happy about Cammie, who is scoring them goals, and Pleks, who is on pace for a point per game season. Now we just need my boy Gionta back.

We have our own Cammie, his name is Phil Kessel. He has 10 goals in 17 games after missing 6 months of hockey. But he will not be as good as whoever Boston drafts because he wears the TML jersey.

Brind 'Amour and other players are PISSED that he got scratched against Pittsburgh. Didn't expect that at all, I hope the tension in the locker room settles before the game tonight, cause I definitely don't want to see Brodeur break the record against us.

Ward is back though, YAY!

Umm... Yes, Phil Kessel is a very good player and has been playing very, very well. Nobody attacked him in any post. I was a bit skeptical at the beginning of the season that he would be up at the top of his game because he didn't play well after his injury in Boston last year, but I am happy to be wrong. But Kessel was going to get out of Boston anyway due to major conflicts with the coaches, and it is still extremely scary that Boston has access to two extra first round draft picks over the next two years, especially since they might be good first round draft picks. And if Toronto does not make the playoffs even with Kessel on board, that would suggest that no matter how good he's played, he might not have been worth the chance to rebuild the team.

I was only kidding with my post. I was just poking fun at the fact that before Kessel even played a game for Toronto people were saying this was the worst trade in the history of trades. And since Kessel is now a Leaf, he will fail. Obviously he has not failed, he has slowed down the last few games, but he is still our most lethal player. To see a line in the future with him and Kadri will be very nice. But all everybody ever talks about is the picks Boston got. You said extra picks, trust me if they keep winning, they will trade their 1st rounder at the deadline to help bolster their team. They will go into this draft with only 1 first round pick.

Well tonight's game was bullshit, watching replays, the puck is in the net before the whistle is blown. Sure we got outshot by like 20 shots and outplayed for the most part, but I still think they played good and did not deserve to lose like that. I also don't understand how Hal Gill could be pushed over by a penguin and then when someone trips over him falling, he gets a tripping penalty. I dont like pulling the 'refs suck' card since every team gets good and bad calls, but those 2 calls had me kinda  tonight.

Oh well, Montreal has been playing really good of late, so hopefully they just bounce back from this loss with more wins.

The Kings aren't playing particularly well yet they seem to find a way to win most games. They have a record of 20-10-3 sitting near the top of the conference. Pretty unbelievable. Something bad is bound to happen, they can't be this good.. Can they?

they've been shit for so long that they were bound to start doing good.

scary thing is, Ryan Smyth was tearing it up before he got hurt. And you guys are still winning without him. Imagine what it will be like when he's back.

Also, imagine how good you will be when that young goalie is ready. Whatshisname? That canadian kid.

Yeah Jonathan Bernier is a great goaltending prospect. Quick has been amazing lately though.

Our depth is taking some hits with injuries lately. Smyth should be back in a few weeks but now Simmonds is injured as well. He's been the main piece stepping up since Smyth went down and Kopitar started slumping. An additional 3-4 fringe NHL players are also injured plus a whole bunch down in the AHL, making depth an issue at the moment.

Still, Kings managed to win yet again against Dallas yesterday. Now isn't this a beautiful picture:

Kings first and local rivals Ducks last :dio:

It won't last but I'm celebrating anyway!

If Anaheim contiunes to lose and they start selling away players, they will get some awesome returns. Just imagine what a Scott Niedermayer or a Teemu Selanne or a Saku Koivu could get them at the trade deadline. Look at what Pronger got them, basically 4 1st round picks.

Nooooo, I don't want to be left behind. Fucking Leafs are catching fire.

We've been above average the last couple of games, deserving wins, but we get those fucking unlucky bounces against us. Tlusty has been good but got reassigned to Albany today. Should do wonders down there.

Toronto has been arguably the hottest team in the league these last 10 games, winning 7 of them. Are we a playoff team? I still don't think so, but we are only 4 points out. Toskala is playing great in net, our scorers (Kessel and Hagman) are continuing to score, and our checkers are shutting down other teams top players. But the 2 games against Boston showed that we are not there yet. Boston is a playoff team. Big, strong, good in net, and great defensively. Washington is not a playoff team, questionable goaltending, weak d-corps, and just not a very good team defense. Sure they can score almost at will, but who will keep the puck out come playoff time? All I am getting at is the Leafs can beat the flashy teams like a Washington, but the big tough playoff built teams like Boston we still have hard times with.

And what about those Flyers? Made that big trade for Pronger and they are what, 13th in the east? What happened?

Really fun 3rd period between Canucks and Ducks tonight. Pretty crappy first two though. Luongo carried them through the first and then they had 5 power plays in the second and failed miserably at them. I'm starting to think refs are being a little too trigger happy with hooking/holding calls.

Jonas "The Monster" Gustavsson gets his first NHL shut-out against the Bruins last night. Was a pretty boring game, but played well defensively by my Leafers. The win would of looked even better if we didn't drop back to back games to Phoenix and Buffalo.

Canucks are looking pretty good last 5 games as long as they don't fall asleep like they did 1st 2 periods in Anaheim.

Woo, hockey is back! Kings haven't played in 8 days so I'm pumped. Also the World Junior Championship is starting, it's gonna be a blast.

What a BS hockey game. Yet again the Leafs make Halak look like a god. Sure he made some good saves, but the Leafs make every goalie in the league look good. We go down 2-0 and come back to tie it at 2s, then in the dying minutes in the 3rd we are literally all over them. I spilled my beer when Kessel had the wide open net with only 7 seconds left, but of course it goes wide and now I have a mess to clean. Then it goes to OT and as usual, the Leafs suck. Fuck this team is frustrating to watch. They sleep through the 1st, come to life in the 2nd, and make the Habs look like a triple A team in the 3rd, yet we lose. When the roster freeze is over, Burkie needs to do something. i don't mean a major trade or anything, just something to get some new blood in there. Somebody who is not afraid to get hit and throw some hits, and obviously net a few goals here and there. I can't stand Jason Blake anymore, and what the hell happened to Ponikarovski? He has a career year last year, gets to play on the top line this year with a bonafide sniper in Kessel and he drops off in production? God damn it's hard being a Leafs fan.
