I 100% agree with you. Evans dominated the fight for the majority of it but Thiago had a chance and failed to capitilize on it. I love the way Greg Jacksons fighters fight, relentless in your face style and Silva wasn't ready for it. His jiu-jitso was neutrilized by the strength of Evans and it wasn't until he started to show boat that he learned that he can actually stand and strike with him. Evans doesn't really have the greatest chin either... Oh well good fights and I can't wait for February 6th.

Last night's card proved yet again that the fights matter, not the fighters. At least, the fights are far more important than the individuals fighting.

Are you more entertained by big-name fighters putting on a great fight or two turds doing the same? To me, there's no difference in entertainment value.

I just like to see George St. Pierre and Thiago Alves putting on a good show over 2 guys I've never heard of. Sure, if the 2 guys I've never heard of put on a great show then I am happy, but if GSP and whoever he fights put on a great show then I am happier.

I certainly enjoy watching big names fight more than unknowns. The build-up to a big fight is part of that. The other thing is the familiarity factor, you know the tendencies and strengths/weaknesses of the fighters and how they match up. Also I'm more invested in watching known fighters fight since I then usually have a fighter to cheer for.

That being said, I'll take a good fight between nobodies over a bad fight between superstars every time.

So Lesnar gets the visit from the docotor this week to see if he needs surgery or not. If he needs surgery, then best case scenario is he will be out for 2 years, worst case scenario his career is over before it really ever began. As much as I hate the guy, it would be weird without him in the UFC. Him and Mir need a 3rd fight.

Frank Mir vs. Shane Carwin for an Interim Heavyweight Championship at UFC 111 or 112. Should be a good fight.

Randy Couture and Brock Lesnars head coach say that Brock will be back in the Octagon this spring.

So Dana White jumps the gun on the Interim Heavyweight Championship match between Frank Mir and Shane Carwin. I don't even think Mir deserves a chance, he got destroyed by Lesnar then destroys Kongo. How does that get you a title shot? I think Nogueira, Velasquez maybe even Dos Santos are higher up the food chain then Mir right now. I'm still looking forward to the Mir-Carwin fight, as it will be a big challenge for both fighters. Definitely the most experienced and talented fighter Carwin has ever fought. Also it will put Mir to the test to see if his new training style works against the bigger guys in the weight class. I think if it gets to the ground, Mir wins by destruction.

How did Dana jump the gun here? You can't just wait on this shit. Deals have to be made well in advance.

And another rumor suggests Lesnar will be out for all of 2010.

Dana always brings out these interim title fights. I don't mind them, but if Lesnar is ready to go this Spring like his coach says so, then what was the point of making Mir-Carwin a title fight? I'm sure either guy could wait a little longer for a shot at Lesnar.

oh well...

it will still be a good fight.

Some fantastic UFC events coming up. 109 is decent but after that it's gonna be some great months.

My friends, I nearly cried after not only being hardcore rejected this weekend by a girl who I've been chasing ( And either she likes to fuck with guys or I got my signals mixed ). I got wasted, got rejected, and came home to see Marius Zaromskis losing to Nick Diaz by TKO.

Fucking awful weekend.

We don't getShowcase or Showtime, whatever it's called, in Canada so I missed Strikeforce this weekend.

Seeing Mike Swick get put to sleep was nice.

Demian Maia is much improved in striking, but he's still got a long way to go.

I would of never believed that Chael Sonnen dominated Marquardt like he did. Ridiculous.

Randy "The Natural" Couture! Who does he fight next?

They should cut Couture, too. That fight was pathetic. Haha. But Coleman just can't cut it, even a little bit. I feel bad for the guy, you know, not having enough money to properly train and take care of his family. Apparently he only has some local wrestlers to work with and a heavy bag tied to a tree in his back yard. But he's too old for this stuff now.

Sucks about Vitor. Who can Silva fight? Sonnen is on medical suspension for a month. No time to train after that.

And I see Dana made the right decision and cut the legendary LOLS Gracie. Haha.

I'd be so pissed if they cut Couture. But hey he's getting old and obviously can't keep up with the better LHWs. But give him credit, he still works hard and has 2 wins in a row. Not to mention the money he generates for the UFC.

Demian Maia will step in to fight Anderson Silva for the title.

Randy Couture will fight Rich Franklin at UFC 115 in Vancouver.

Maia gets to fight Anderson Silva? Man, talk about being a sacrificial lamb.
