Ditto on the pre-order. I'm hoping for thrash album of the year, I'm really trying to not listen to more than the one song I heard on youtube.

I've listened to 3 songs so far and they all slay. My hopes are high just like yours.

Wehrmacht - Shark Attack

came in the mail today. For anybody who hasn't heard this, metal doesn't get much faster.

Oh, hell yes. I should write up the latter, the former is my favourite album ever. In fact, I'm going to swap the Rage I have on now for it.

I'm really excited about ironbound too btw! I agree with DW, the songs I have heard so far all slay.

All four of the above mentioned albums arrived today. All are excellent. :dio: I didn't realize that the Seventh Angel was a special edition limited to 2000 numbered copies, which is a nice surprise; my CD is number 1236. :D

I was in HMV looking for the new Epica .. which they didn't have .. but I found this! I was taken completely by suprise as you usually don't see stuff like this in retail.

I've decided to switch to MP3 downloads. I will no longer buy CD's unless necessary or if I end up missing the satisfaction of holding the music in my hand.

With that, I just bought:

Anubis Gate - The Detached
Gamma Ray - To The Metal
Aspera - Ripples
Savage Circus - Of Doom and Death

I'm saving the rest of my Amazon gift cards for Arsis, Orphaned Land, Rage, and Overkill.

Purchasing downloads? I don't see the point in that at all, really. It's just paying money for the exact same thing you can get for free. At least when you buy CDs, you can build up a collection and have physical copies of the CDs, booklets, jewel cases and all that, but paying for an MP3 download, with which you get none of that, is a little pointless, imo.

I've always thought the same thing. However, I listen to music - at the gym (ipod), in my office (ipod dock), at home (ipod dock), or on my computer. I'm also planning on getting some decent speakers for my Mac. The only time I listen to CD's is when I drive my car. Sometimes I drive my wife's which has an AUX adapter for my iPod. I already have a huge collection of CD's 400+ on my recent count and I have no room for them. I may change my mind... we'll see.
