Demon's Souls isn't only the best RPG this generation, its also the best game overall (my opinion of course). Ive been pretty lucky with invasions in my game, Im something like 22-1. The 1 loss was because I thought I didn't have my wand equipped but I did and so when I hit the button in unequipped and I was left there with no weapon and it was too late by the time I figured it out.

Are you a Magic build? im mostly melee with a little bit of magic.

im gonna try 4-2 tonight and maybe 4-3 depending on how that goes, one thing i love about this game is that even with good stats and armor you'll never feel quite safe in new areas, get careless and you'll die.

So far i've beaten 1-1, 1-2, 2-1, 2-2, 2-3, 3-1, 3-2, 3-3, 4-1 and so far this has been one of the greatest games i've ever played.

I'm pretty sure you play as a team in MW2. Unless you play Free for All or core team Deathmatch. Bascially every other mode is team based.

But hey! Thanks for coming out!

Well, yes alright you wear the same team colour. People always talk about their individual scores and whatnot though, I've never thought of Modern Warfare as team based games that much based on the buzz and what little I've played of it. You basically level up a character, unlock new feats and stuff right? So you team up to advance your individual character. Maybe I'm out on slippery ice, but I can imagine it's possible to gone lone ranger and still be very successful? Or is team play essential for victory?

Modes like hardcore search and destroy is very team based. There is no possible way you can go lone wolf in that mode. Same with other modes like Sabotage or Headquarters. The "teamyness" is also much more advanced in hardcore modes.

Im almost completely melee with the halberd, I leveled up my magic enough to use the magic I learned from using the Dragon God's soul and I have a wand on as a secondary on one of my hands. My strategy when I get invaded is to hide and then blast them with my one magic attack, it's powerful enough to knock em down and then I quckly get my halberd out and slash away and 99% of the time it works.

I've beaten the game once already and am on my through again to get some trophies. The 4th Archstone was probably my favorite, the 5th was a bitch.

You can do whatever the hell you want, but unless you go for your team's objectives (plant bomb, take flag or whatever) you'll make your team shittier.

Never tried hardcore mode, sounds pretty neat if this is the case. I do prefer online games that rely on teams working together, with the exception of some instagib action in UT2004 once in a while of course.

Final Fantasy XIII....Wow, just wow, i really love this game. Great story, mostly great characters, fast and fun gameplay and FANTASTIC music, i absolutely love it, it really is some of the best music i have ever heard in any game...it's really that good. About 15 hours into it now and I'm loving every minute of it! :dio:

Hmm, I can't help but feeling that I'm missing out on something when it comes to FF games. All those things you mentioned, except for the music, is either bad or down right terrible in my opinion. I really gave FFXIII more than one honest chance but gave up after about 14h of gaming.
I know it's my own loss, but I just can't get the hang of what I'm really missing

I don't even really wanna play FF XIII. From what I've heard, it's completely linear, there's more cutscene than actual game, I heard some of the voiceacting, which I can't believe voiceacting that bad still exists, and they took out the victory fanfare. The fucking victory fanfare! That was one of the cornerstones of the FF series!

As far as I'm concerned, the FF series ended when Sakaguchi and Uematsu left.

Yeah, it's linear, but so is like..90% of JPRGs out there. Honestly i didn't mind the linear approach since it helps keep the narrative tighter. About there being more cutscenes than gameplay i have to call BS on that one, it's simply not true (although in the beginning there are quite a few cut scenes to properly set stage for the plot) as far as the VA in this game goes i'd have to agree that some of the voice work here can be a tad spotty some times but it's really not that bad (IMHO)

Also, i really did not notice that the Victory theme was gone until you pointed it out, but the one they replaced it with is fine.

As far as i can tell i'll be soon at the point where the game opens up and stops being that linear, where i can roam big open plains and do missions and sidequests and all that jazz. Oh and the battle system rocks too, its their best battle system to date imo..

Eh, i guess this is the kinda game that you either love or hate. I would think that most fans of JRPGs will gobble this up and people who prefer WRPGs will probably hate it.

Pretty much all games are linear, but it's just a matter of wether or not it feels like you're being led through the game on a leash or not. I won't say if that's the case with FF XIII or not, because I haven't played it, but from what I've seen and heard, I don't think I will.

Well it's a shame you feel that way because it's an amazing game (again, my humble opinion) Maybe pick it up later when it comes down in price?

Seems to be true for me, since I prefer westerns. Alot of people like both styles though.
Also, I just can't fathom why the no one has done a better battle system than what Grandia 2 had. It's been 10 years, come on.

The entire Grandia series has the best RPG battle system I've ever played, however I prefer the first games level system since it rewarded you for everything you did instead of the egg system, which is still good.

All this FF talk made me nostalgic. So I downloaded Final Fantasy IV (II) for the Wii. Good times ahead.

Started Chrono Trigger over, since I have time to play it now. Last time I played it, I got about ten hours in and then school started up, so I didn't have any time to devote myself to an RPG, really.
