Slice is fighting in the next UFC, Machido v Rau 2. Spelling probably failed.

Slice vs. Mitrione is a joke of a fight, I'm sure there are much more deserving people who could be fighting when they enter the octagon.

I agree, Dev. It's a silly fight. It's probably going to be more of a joke that Slice/Alexander. Either that or it'll end in a sloppy first round KO.

He's a Jiu-Jitsu guy. He stood at least, and did more than circle the octagon.
You should know that his gameplan was smart, as Silva is a counterstriker... charging in guns a-blazin' would have been foolish.

WAR MAIA!

I don't care what he is. He didn't even show up to fight except maybe like in the 4th round for a minute.

So should Sonnen or Belfort get the next crack at Silva?

I think the next time Silva defends his title, it will be a stacked card cause you know White won't want Silva being the main event.

Hey, guys. Just wanted to let everyone know there's a free Strikeforce event on CBS tonight. It's going to slay so absolutely tune in if you're an MMA fan.

http://www.sherdog.com/news/articles/Pr ... ille-23902

It's a stacked card and should be awesomely entertaining.

I got Aoki tonight by magical rainbow pants submission without the rainbow pants.

I'm watching it.
Hendo / Shields should kick all kindsa ass.
All around good card. Mousasi is always fun to watch, too.

Oh, BTW...

Shogun or Machida. Or possibly Jackson. Lot's of talent at LHW.
He says he only wants "superfights", so I say give him one.
Though his chances of another W are very good, and no way a fight like that would not be a main event.
Belfort is aggressive (which plays right into Silva's strengths) and lightning fast and accurate, and Sonnen's trash talk would be epic entertaining in and of itself.

Whoever he fights, it needs to be in the LHW division.

I know about this, but I don't think we get CBS here in Canada. But I so badly want to watch this.

well he is still the middleweight champ, so he'll have to defend against Sonnen or Belfort eventually. As for the LHW fights, he's openly said he won't fight Machida, as they are friends and training partners. And I think he'd only fight Jackson if he comes out victorious against Rashad.

I personally think it will be a few months until we start to even hear rumor about the next Silva fight. But then again, White may want to forget about this asap, so he wastes little time getting Anderson back in the octagon. Either way, I hope his next fight is a good one win or lose.

Well, if it's a matter of defending his belt, I say Sonnen.
Belfort's style plays too strongly into Silva's hands.
On the other hand, it would be good to see two strikers going at it, though I feel Belfort's aggression will backfire on him.

He really needs to step up to LHW, though.

Only my second time seeing Mousasi fight, not impressed. He's got such a good record, yet he let this douche bag dictate the entire fight.

Poor ol' Hendo.

But I guess not fighting in 10 months, being 39 years old, and having to drop 15-20 lbs in less than a week would do that to you.

I'm extremely upset with the results of the last Strikeforce card. The fights were all good for the most part, but all my fighters lost. I figured Aoki would, but I was shocked that Mousasi was dominated like he was. He was landing good strikes and some from guard that were actually fairly damaging, but if he had a gameplan to let Mo wear himself out... It wore out Mousasi.

Also it was really shocking to hear pre-fight that he wasn't training wrestling with anyone special. He expected to go to the ground, which is fine, but the fact that he's not training with someone relevant or world class for someone like Mo was really silly. I imagine he's learned from his mistake.

Aoki should have thrown more strikes. His world is from the guard and the worst thing he's looking at throwing knees and kicks is getting taken down. Towards the later rounds he should have went for broke and risked getting KO'd/Sub'd. He just took a huge beating the entire fight. When he did throw kicks, and a few punches... He landed. He should have thrown more.

As for Hendo... Bleh. The Mousasi and Hendo results were spoiled by my friend texting me that Mo won before I watched the fights ( I DVR'd it ) and then my DVR messed up and put me at the end of the fights which showed Shields winning.

Terrible night. One last thing, though. Is that I'm shocked at how many MMA " fans " are crying about watching 3 decisions. Sorry guys, it happens. The fights were still entertaining.

I don't care that they went to decisions, it's just.. I was expecting more out of all three who lost. I've heard lots of hype about Mousasi, and yeah he had the right gameplan just couldn't pull it off properly.

But yeah, they were good fights. I just expected more. Is Melendez top 3 for middleweights now? And why can't Japanese fighters be more successful in north America?

That Strikeforce card looked epic on paper, but it turned to be just merely good in my opinion. This being my first time seeing Aoki, I was hoping for more than watching him sit down and drag his butt around like a dog on a driveway, but I guess you have to hand it to Melendez as he worked his stick and move plan to perfection.

I think its funny how much shit Mayhem is getting from people around the net, as if busting in on the post fight interview to ask for a rematch is anything new.

Oh, and the Diaz brothers are still fucking scum.

Yeah, that "Scooter" Aoki fight was a joke.

The Mousasi fight was a bit of a dissapointment, too. The few times I've seen him fight, I was pretty impressed, but Saturday was just boring.
The Hendo fight was alright, but I was still expecting more.
