I didn't get to see it as I was not around a tv that had the channel. But I did read about it, and Rogers got smoked! Overeem vs. Fedor after Fedor beats(?) Werdum.

oh and for you usually knowing your shit.. I've based my picks in the past solely off of your picks and get my ass handed to me. That's why I made such a big deal about your last round being so right.

To be fair, there have been some crazy upsets in recent history.

I am soo fucking looking forward to the Fedor / Werdum fight, as I mentioned, my wife scored me and a freind some good tix, and, like the song says, "I'll be there."
Werdum is a decent fighter, though I don't think he'll be able to handle Fedor.
We'll see.
Either way, it's gonna be a blast.

Yeah there's definitely been some upsets and sometimes I'll pick my favorites even though they're not a favorite to win the fight or may be inconsistent in some way. Other times I'm just wrong. :)

That's sweet that you get to go to the event, Banshee. I'm jealous. I don't know who all else is on the card yet but it'll probably be pretty badass. Hopefully they get some more DREAM guys in there.

Cyborg is fighting. I pity the poor broad that is facing her.

Least he was humble in defeat and didn't get all cocky and start throwing excuses everywhere.

Wow, I can't believe Chuck got rid of the belly!

I'm hoping for a Couture-like return to form but I got to wonder if his chin is as vulnerable as it was before he took a break.

I wonder if he's learned he has solid wrestling and could be taking people down and TKOing them.

Chuck is done.

he actually had the upper hand for a bit, but Rich played a smart game and let Chuck attack and he knew he'd find an opening. Sure enough, another KO on Chucks record. ohhhh well...

that's pretty messed up to take a kick to the arm, have your arm break, know it's broken and still fight. not only still fight with it, but continue to throw punches with it.

oh and I'm not gonna lie, when Ace caught Chuck, I was cheering very loudly. I can just never not like Franklin. I hope he does make a run for the title.

Every fight was enjoyable and included a couple of awesome ones as well. Chuck looked pretty good, he could have pulled it off too but his chin let him down. Too bad... No point for him to continue really. Anyway, great UFC event, the best I've seen in quite some time now.

it's always the cards with the least known guys that always put on the best show.

but I think a lot of that has to do with the bigger name guys get hyped a lot more so you hope for something spectacular. and when it's just a normal good fight you feel let down. but if the same fight happened between 2 no-name guys then you'd be singing a different tune.

i'm not singeling anybody out, I do the same.

and how about Cro Cop? that was sick!

About time Cro Cop did something good

And man, that Macdonald stoppage at the end of the round sucked. Had he won I would have made myself a pretty penny. He was getting destroyed in that third round though, I can't argue that.

The Ultimate Fighter finale coming up, followed by some big fights in UFC 116... Though as you say, big name cards often disappoint. The main event is obviously huge (in more than one way) but I'm just as pumped for the Silva/Akiyama fight, plus Lytle always puts on a show and Sotiropoulos looked tremendous against Joe Stevenson. Should be a solid night!

The event was pretty solid overall and while I liked Cro Cop winning he didn't look amazing and he got let off the hook a couple times by Barry. I don't know what Barry's deal was but he could have won that fight.

Either way, I'm a big Cro Cop fan so I'll take the halfassed choke win. lol. I just hope he continues to improve, he looked great in that final flurry against Barry... If only he could turn up that heat more often.

Franklin won as I thought he would, although Chuck looked alright for a bit. It was a good end to the night.

I was kinda bitter that Rory lost the fight to Condit. I figured he'd manage to eek out a decision since Condit is tough as nails and never seems to get finished, but Condit turned it around. The guy is a warrior but look out for Rory, he's a huge up and comer for sure.

Yeah he'll be back and stronger than ever. Condit is no joke and a huge step up in competition. He's got years to evolve and become a legit contender.

It's been MMA overload for the past week or so. UFC last week, Strikeforce, TUF Finale last night, WEC and Sengoku tonight. I'm loving it. There's been some great cards and I think WEC tonight should be very enjoyable.

As for this season of TUF... Not really that concerned with the winner. McGee is a nice guy and pretty well rounded, but I don't see him really making it too deep in the division. He's just not excellent at any one element of the game from what I could tell.

I think Nick Ring could have been a real force if his knee wasn't so messed up. Shame he's probably not going to be fighting again anytime soon, if at all.

Jardine is more than likely gone, or will be doing some smaller shows to rack up some V's and confidence before they let him back in the UFC. He seems like an alright guy but he's one of those fighters that just doesn't excel at anything and seem content to stand where clearly they're not like a knockout artist or technical striker. He should round out his game, he can be very nasty in top position.

He's also got deadly leg kicks, he needs to utilize them more often.

What's up guys. AMAZING Article about Pride Fighting Championships. Any MMA fan will really appreciate this article and it's probably one of the best I've ever read. It goes in depth about the early days of the org ( Mainly the 2000 pride GP ) and gets the nitty gritty from the fighters from those days. Don't miss it!

Also, I was in an argument about Lesnar/Carwin in another forum and I'm just kinda gonna post it up here because I'm SICK of people talking shit on Carwin or saying he's somehow outclassed as far as facing Cock Blesnar. And also, what are you guys' thoughts on that fight?

I've been following Carwin since his debut at UFC 84 on the prelims, in which he basically punched right through some guy I can't remember the name of.

The guy is totally legit and I'm sick of people questioning him as a fighter. What does he have to prove? So what if he hasn't been to later rounds? The man has a perfect game for MMA, a strong wrestling base, great clinch, great control, and retardedly heavy hands. He's also extremely intelligent and is coached by one of the better guys in the sport right now.

Carwin wins the fight, either in the first round by TKO or I see him winning a decision.

Brock's only hope in this fight is to get Carwin down and keep him there. I don't see him taking out Carwin on the feet or by sub at all. Carwin's hands are too good and he's got the Jackson Camp behind him working with that. He's not going to be afraid to clinch up with Brock, either, and work him against the fence or even put him on his back. Carwin isn't a guy who fights scared.

dude on other forum wrote:
I think Carwin and Lesnar are both badass dudes but People are putting way too much into Carwin's stopping power, saying he'll knock Brock out in the first and all that... .

Record 12 - 0 - 0 (Win - Loss - Draw)
Wins 7 (T)KOs ( 58.33 %)
5 Submissions ( 41.67 %)

Win Frank Mir KO (Punches) UFC 111 - St. Pierre vs. Hardy 3/27/2010 1 3:48
Win Gabriel Gonzaga TKO (Punches) UFC 96 - Jackson vs. Jardine 3/7/2009 1 1:09
Win Neil Wain TKO (Punches) UFC 89 - Bisping vs. Leben 10/18/2008 1 1:31
Win Christian Wellisch KO (Punch) UFC 84 - Ill Will 5/24/2008 1 0:44
Win Sherman Pendergarst TKO (Punches) ROF 31 - Undisputed 12/1/2007 1 1:41
Win Rex Richards Submission (Guillotine Choke) AOW - Art of War 4 10/27/2007 1 1:24
Win Rick Slaton KO ROF 30 - Domination 9/15/2007 1 0:49
Win Chris Guillen Submission UTS 6 - Ultimate Texas Showdown 6 6/24/2006 1 0:29
Win Justice Smith TKO (Punches) Extreme Wars 3 - Bay Area Brawl 6/3/2006 1 0:31
Win Jay McCown Submission UTS 5 - Ultimate Texas Showdown 5 4/29/2006 1 1:31
Win Casey Jackson Submission (Guillotine Choke) Extreme Wars 2 - X-1 3/18/2006 1 0:22
Win Carlton Jones Submission (Punches) WEC 17 - Halloween Fury 4 10/14/2005 1 2:11

Which basically leaves him KOing, TKOing, or having his opponents tap to strikes ( The two marked as just submission are both strikes as far as I know ) his opponents 83% of the time in the first round. Even if the submissions to strikes were excluded he has practically a 60% first round T(KO) finish ratio.
