DEP!! So envious.

Uhh... Yeah. I'm more excited about The Prodigy and Rammstein, but sure. HIM are playing there as well, is this an opportunity to score some adolescent goth pussy?
For the first part, you would. For the second part, that's sad even if it is tongue in cheek.

I was going to say pre-adolescent, but that seemed a bit much. I've gotta decide between HIM and Hatebreed playing different stages at the same time. Hatebreed might be fun, but HIM might be funny.

Killer live shows, even if DEP might be a better band.

Because DEP =/= killer live show? Do you know who Greg Puciato is and how crazy that man is? Have you seen how energetic every other member of the band is live?

Rumours of Slayer and Testament performing here in October are flying around and it has come in today's paper too, but Rock In India refused to comment until they sign the bands. Keeping my fingers crossed and probably won't change my job till then cos I am not sure if I will have an off or get leave on that day if I do. At least if I stay in my current job till then, I can book my leave in advance. It's still months away, so hoping for the best.

Yeah. Compared to fucking Rammstein and the Prodigy, though, I'm still more excited for them. I'm looking forward to the DEP though, don't worry.

Sounds like someone doesn't know what Dillinger Escape Plan are like live. The combination of sheer energy output while nailing their songs is = killerest live show.

Let me just say...

Anyone who doesn't prefer to see The Prodigy over DEP obviously doesn't take acid or pills or acid and pills.

I recommend the third option.

I don't do drugs, and I love the Prodigy.

Oh wait, you guys don't think I have any taste.

Fuck you, the Prodigy are amazing.

So awsum.

Give an update when you return!

I admit to being unfamiliar with most of those bands (excepting Urfaust, Enochian Crescent,GBK, Aura Noir, and Ad Hominem), do you have a strong recommendation from the remainder?

So, Wednesday night my wife and I went to see Iron Maiden and Dream Theater in Dallas. It was a great show overall with about 12,000 or something in attendance.

Dream Theater:
This was the third time I've seen DT and they were great as always. They opened up with As I Am, a personal fave, and the proceeded into A Right of Passage. Labrie sounded kinda rough at first but after the first song he was great.

The next four songs were:
Home (AWESOME!!!)
Constant Motion
Panic Attack
Pull Me Under

And then...they were done. I was pretty disappointed by how short their set was. I was hoping for at least 2-3 more songs.

Iron Maiden:
The sting of disappointment from the very brief DT appearance was short lived. As soon as Iron Maiden's intro came on the whole place went crazy and stayed that way for the next two hours. They opened up The Wicker Man and this was probably one of the coolest moments of my whole life. Bruce Dickinson is just an amazing singer and front man. He sounded great and the whole placed was singing along with the chorus.

I won't list every song they played because I don't think I could remember everything, but I will say this, the first 3/4 of the set was from Brave New World or later. If you are seeing them on this tour expecting to hear 10 classics, looks like you will be disappointed. I have to admit that while I love the the newer material, I was a bit let down. I know my wife was bummed they didn't play run to the hills.

Slight disappointments aside, this was a great show and I'm very glad I decided to throw down the money and make the drive to see Maiden before they call it quits. An amazing band.

So, Hammer Open Air is over and I am still in one piece, hah. The weather was horrible, it poured down rain almoust constantly, but that's okay, we were nicely drunken to give a fuck aboot it.
Almoust every band I checked out there were nothing away from awesome! Solitaire was the first band I checked. Fucking awesome finnish speed/heavy metal. Good gig. Enochian Crescent did their best show to date that I have seen, still got some blood on my clothes to proveit, heh. The Devil's Blood was the mainperformer on friday. Their gig was.... just awesome, fucking awesome. Atmospheric and energik show by them. On saturday I only checked out Goatmoon, Vitsaus, Urfaust and GBK, wich all performed good, expesially Goatmoon (finnish NSBM) and Urfaust. Fucking awesome weekend.

Jesus fucking CHRIST.

Rammstein are amazing live. Absolutely unbelievable. Fantastic costumes, fireworks everywhere... Lindemann set his fucking roadie on fire.

The Prodigy were also ecstatic.

Trapt, DEP were a great, great show- that guitarist has unbelievable energy. But uhm... Yeah, not as good as Rammstein or the Prodigy.

Other highlights were Eluveitie, the Hives, Coheed & Cambria, Subway to Sally. Sepultura were a bit underwhelming.
