offer sheet?

I think not. Burke will not sign anybody to an offer sheet.

how do I know this? Dustin Penner.

Well, I still think Kessel for Kaberle straight up would have been a fair deal for both teams but it seems like they both wanted picks included.

it would of been Kaberle and Kadri for Kessel.

at the time, that was not a fair trade. sure, neither is the potential of what Boston will draft. But at the time who thought the Leafs would finish 29th?

Canucks joined league: 1970
Leafs last cup: 1967

we're three years ahead of you!

Also gj winning when there was 12 teams in the league. Quite the accomplishment!

13 cups to 0 cups, not matter what spin you put on it, 13 is greater than 0.

but hey, for some reason Nucks fans like to read and follow then bash the Leafs every chance they get. So I am not really surprised.

It was still six teams actually. The league expanded to 12 in '67-'68.

I realize I just made your "argument" even better but it's my nature to correct people on these things. :P

Canucks have had two finals appearances and Leafs have had none since '67. You got the numbers mixed up methinks.

Nathan Horton and Gregory Campbell to Boston for Dennis Wideman and the 15th overall pick.

Tomas Plekanec signs multi-year extension with the Habs.

Scott Niedermayer retires.

Pat Quinn steps down as Oilers head coach, Tom Renney takes over.

Interesting to see who the Ducks sign on the backend to replace him. Most fans were clamoring for a Zbynek Michalek assuming all else stayed equal. Now they will need two impact defensemen to be a top 4 western team, which I really think they have potential for based on how well their second line played down the stretch.

I can't fully comment on the Bruins trade quite yet; I didn't like Wideman much, but Horton has pretty much defined unfilled expectations.

for the Ducks, they made that trade at the deadline and acquired Lubomir Visnovsky. He is no Niedermayer, but he is definitely a talented offensive d-man. Also, Tomas Kaberle for Bobby Ryan.

Yeah, I love Visnovsky's game. I am basically just quoting Ducks fans from Hockeysfutures and their obsession for both a defensive defenseman like Michalek and retaining Niedermeyer.

Kaberle in a Ryan deal seems possible since Anaheim is shopping Ryan around.

Selanne is my all-time favorite player, so I always have had a soft spot for the Ducks. He, Koivu, and Blake were incredible in their short run together down the stretch last year.

Yeah, Visnovsky was a great pick up. He's kind of underrated if you ask me.

Sucks to see Niedermayer retire. He's been one of my favourite players for a long time.

the only problem with Visnovsky is his expensive contract.

but yeah, he's a good d-man. Him and Kabs on the Ducks PP would be pretty good.

Bobby Ryan in a Leafs jersey would also be pretty good.

git r done Burkey

Several Kaberle rumors out there.

Kaberle to Boston for Savard

or

Kaberle to Dallas for James Neal.

I'd rather have Neal, but of either trade happened, I'd be down.
