Pretty bad, but Noodles would like it. Never take book recommendations from women.

I think it's interesting just to hear stories from somebody who was around the guys in the bands in a relatively informal capacity at that time. Personally, I think the guy exaggerates a tad (as do his subjects) .. but at least he knows the first rule of storytelling: don't be boring.

Zizek just compared a Rammstein concert to culture in a communist society. I feel like that was worth the mention.

I love Hitch's stuff. I hope that he responds well to the chemotherapy treatments. It was reported that he contracted esophogeal cancer, which sounds incredibly nasty. He was scheduled for a book signing and speaking engagement down here in Raleigh, NC about two weeks ago (which a friend and I were planning to attend) and he was forced to cancel due to his health. I hope it all works out for him.

I read about 5 pages of one of his books and got the impression he's just being a dick and using big words to draw attention to himself and how smart he is.

Don't become a grumpy crusty 'ole contrarian on my behalf Zad. I just feel that he makes a lot of sense in regards to many topics. And hearing someone speak intelligently is a welcome change to the backwood fundamental christian lowbrow redneck nonsense I endure on an almost daily basis.

Edit: Honestly, the books claim that "to determine what is right and what is wrong without God, is difficult" is bullshit if you've ever taken a basic ethics 101 course. Then bashing the relationship between the cult of personality and atheism in the U.S.S.R. is just weak in general but whatever. When taking that as your case study for atheists you're just doing it wrong. He basically fails to address his brother's arguments besides saying 'he must be lashing out because he knows he truly is mistaken', kinda saying he yells loudly because he's full of shit.

The Hitchens brothers are the whiniest pair of twats ever, worse than the Milibands. Seriously, it's HURR DURR GOD IS CRAP vs HURR DURR GOD IS GREAT. Peter annoys me more because of his extreme social conservatism, but Chris is an arse too because ISLAM BAD WEST GOOD. Chomsky is more fair-minded that this pair of eedjits.
