Several Kaberle rumors out there.

Kaberle to Boston for Savard

or

Kaberle to Dallas for James Neal.

I'd rather have Neal, but of either trade happened, I'd be down.

I'd rather have Neal if I were a Leafs fan too. You'd clear cap and not get a player (good as Savard is) with an injury history.

"Chicago to send Byfuglien, Sopel, Eager and Akim Aliu to Atl for 24th overall pick, 54th overall pick, Marty Reasoner and Jeremy Morin."

I was hoping for teams to really put the screws on Chicago but I guess Atlanta thought otherwise.

Uh yeah. Sopel isn't very good and while Byfuglien was a scoring machine in the playoffs they got a couple good picks back...and have over 5 million in cleared payroll.

the lack of trades is frustrating

supposedly the Canucks have traded Grabner, Bernier and their 1st round pick to Florida for Ballard and Oreskovich. The trade has not been made official, because the Canucks want to draft a certain player, and if he is still available come their time to pick then the trade is cancelled (im assuming so) and the Canucks make their pick.

I have no idea why I got my hopes up for a trade-heavy draft.. It always seem that way in advance but I'm starting to think it's just hype from the broadcasters and bloggers to attract viewers.

Kings traded up and got themselves another defenseman. Our depth on d must be one of the best in the league at this point.

I was surprised they picked him. But really the Kings are deep at every position, it's kinda scary yet awesome to think how good the Kings may/will be in a few years.

Also surprising was the fact that Fowler and Gormley went 12th and 13th when most, if not all, prospect sites had them top 6.

Yeah, I would like the Canes to get one of them, and was a little disappointed that they didn't claim on of them. JR tried to trade all our three second round picks to get the 8th or 9th pick so he could get one of them. Either way we got Jeff Skinner. Second overall in scoring after Taylor Hall. Nice.

Yeah thank god a couple of guys were sliding which at least kept the draft interesting.. Though I must say I was pretty fed up by the end of it. Once you no longer recognize the names of the guys drafted or care about the teams picking, it's gets a bit slow.

I'll be back watching today though!

Jeff Skinner was a guy I was hoping the Kings would trade up and grab. While the Kings have excellent prospects in all areas, they lack pure goal scorers and Skinner would have been an excellent addition in that regard. Oh well.

Kings have had great success in the second round under this management, pretty much all picks there seem to be on their way to become quality NHL players, so I'm confident they will be able to grab something good.

I just hope the Leafs do something today.

Supposedly somebody offered the Leafs a 1st rounder for a d-man not named Tomas Kaberle. I'm guessing it was Luke Schenn, so I'm glad it didn't happen. But really any other d-man on our roster is worth a 1st rounder, except maybe Phaneuf or Gunnarsson.

Hall and Seguin you mean.

They both had 106 points.

On Skinner?

Let's just say, if he pans out him and Staal or him and Sutter will be pretty deadly.

And the Leafs finally did something! They traded an unnamed unsigned prospect to Chicago for their 2nd rounder, acquired from Atlanta, and drafted Ross. Ross is being compared to Dustin Byfuglien, so depending on who they traded, Im liking the deal.

EDIT - by Chicago I mean Calgary.

Hurricanes trades 46th pick to EDM for unsigned center Riley Nash, the 21st overall pick in 2007.

there is a pretty crazy rumor out there. Savard to Toronto for basically garbage.

all the respectable media members in Toronto are saying that the biggest thing Boston gets out of this trade is cap space.

well, as long as it's not Kadri or Schenn or another 1st rounder, I am down. When you finish 29th, nothing/very little is untouchable.

Burke was on the Fan 590 this morning and wouldn't comment on Savard, but that's because of all the whiners who cried of tampering last summer when Wilson said that the Sedins would be good for the Leafs. Burkey also said that he has a few other trades he's working out right now. None of them involve Savard. Again, he's just saving his ass from tampering claims.

He also said that he is talking to two teams today about Kaberle, but doesn't expect much to be done until July 1st.

rumors are the Ducks are having a hard time re-signing Bobby Ryan and they have a Scott Niedermayer sized hole on D. come on Burkey...

if the Leafs get Savard, then the only guys I want Burke to go after are Armstrong and maybe Torres.

I also wouldn't mind Frolov, but he probably has no interest in signing here.

if we didn't trade for Giggy, then I would of liked to see the Leafs go after Turco. remind anybody of Belfour? has 2 or so bad years in Dallas, moves on in free agency and brings a team to the quarter finals all the while becoming a fan favourite.

so some minor trades went down today and yesterday...

Phoenix traded Daniel Winnik to Colorado for a 4th round pick.

and

Nashville traded the rights to Dan Ellis and Dustin Boyd to Montreal for the rights to Sergei Kostitsyn.

rights or rites? bah, not a big deal.
