anywho, Edmonto trades Patrick O'Sullivan to Phoenix for Jim Vandermeer. Phoenix will then buy out Patty O'Sullivan.

O'Sullivan was a nasty -34 last season, ouch.

Flyers re-sign Michael Leighton to a 2 year $3.1 million contract.

I guess the Nabokov "trade" didn't work out too well for them.

Devils re-signed David Clarkson earlier today to a 3 year, $2.67 million contract.

Leafs trade Viktor Stalberg, Chris Didomenico and Phillipe Paradis to Chicago for Kris Versteeg and Bill Sweatt.

it hurts to see Stalberg and Dido go, but Versteeg is only 24 and put up 45 points last year, anorther 15 points in the playoffs. Losing Paradis doesn`t hurt too much because losing him is like losing Tlusty who will never do anything in the NHL.

A good deal for both sides probably. In Toronto, Versteeg gets a bigger role on and a chance to really prove himself as a scoring winger and Chicago gets size and speed with Ståhlberg and some cheap prospects.

Versteeg is bay far the best player involved in this trade. Stalberg has speed and size but he doesn't use his size. Bill Sweatt is also very fast and 3-4 years younger than Stalberg. Paradis wont do much in the NHL and Dido is coming off a huge injury where he only played 12 games last year. Sure, I may have my blue and white goggles on, but I think Toronto wins this trade.
