Wow....... looks like I am going to have to listen to this and see how foolish I was for writing it off.

Well, I've never really given this band anytime, but this review and high score has me intrigued. I suppose I'll have to give it a listen.

" Good metalcore " as a genre, huh?

I'll be the judge of that.

Super skeptical about this album, though, since I absolutely hate everything else these guys have done... And I'm a metalcore fan.

If that's John Dyer Baizley artwork I'll check it out. His covers are a pretty credible seal of approval.

Bells are ringing... Every Time I Die? I have one of their albums somewhere and it's not bad at all, will have to check this out.

Edit - I have Gutter Phenomenon and this is the song that turned me onto them. Is this new stuff different, or a similar kinda thing?

Good Metalcore?
Now there's something I should try but I seriously come to the same conclusion.

I know of good metalcore.

Everytime I Die. I like the sound and the aggression but the vocals put me off. I wish they were deeper and angrier.

Hearing some Badmotorfinger influences in the myspace samples ..

So what makes this particular album Metalcore anyhow?

Those myspace tracks didn't even sound much like metalcore. Still not my cup of tea though.

This review is the kind of thing that's great about this site. You get a very nice history lesson/editorial/state of things view as well as the album judgment.

but the reviewer made a mistake with the name of the band, it's EVERY TIME I DIE not EVERYTIME I DIE.

Thought this was a good album, I saw The Damned Things live and wasn't impressed with Keith Buckley but he sounds good here.
