That was a good win. And a hat-trick of penalties, you don't see that very often.

OH FUCKING PREMIER LEAGUE!

Man I have been waiting since May for this, and what a fucking opening round! Great matches all around.. Tottenham should have smashed City, but Joe Hart had the match of his life, and pretty much saved them from a crushing defeat. Lovely to see Shitty, who have used so much money, being outplayed by a team who haven't brought in a single player this summer.

Surprise of the round has to be fucking Blackpool. Beating Wigan 4-0 takes them very close to the top of the table, beaten only by Chelsea. A position they surely didn't expect to be in at any point of the season.

Chelsea had a sick match against West Brom. Then again, it was West Brom, and Chelsea likes to score a lot of goals against crappy teams just to flex muscles. They looked strong, but had some luck as well. like good teams tend to have.

The Liverpool - Aresenal game was fun as well. And a huge LOL goes out to Pepe Reina. I've been looking for a reason to mock him for a long time, and I finally found something to mock him for. Excellent goalkeeper, but he plays for a club I hate, so he pretty much has to live with it.

United - Newcastle today. A fucking classic that's always been packed with goals. I hope this doesn't change and that we'll see goals from Rooney, Berbatov and Chicharito if he gets the chance. It wouldn't hurt to see Nani playing his heart out either just to get the sick formed he showed at the end of last season confirmed. I believe Patrice Evra has the day off, so it'll be nice to see Fabio in action again.

Nani could well have been on steroids during the end of last season. his early departure from the Wold Cup was fishy, to say the least.

Benfica lost at home to Académica 2-1 to kick off the season. most matches i see at our stadium end up in draws or defeats, but Académica is the worst, i've seen then 3 times and we always lost - 3-0, 1-0 and 2-1. my family seriously told me not to come to the stadium any more this season.

I missed the first SPL games, including the Aberdeen and Celtic games, which I'm peeved about, and I forgot to watch Liverpool - Arsenal, but I'll try to see fucking Man U tonight.

Hah, steorids? Meh, if he's on drugs, if any, it's not steroids. Are ou denying that he could've had a breakthrough last season?

he could, of course, but the way he left the national team was weird. no one in Portugal believes he was really injured.

if he turns out to be able to keep this form, of course i'll be happy, he's Portuguese after all.

Sporting de Braga, who last season stunned everyone to reach a second-place finish, and this season eliminanted Celtic 4-2 on aggregate, went on to defeat Sevilla 4-3 at the Sánchez Pizjuán to make it to the Champions League for the first time in their history. of course, i'm very proud of them :dio: :dio:

Young Boys playing again today! Let's see if they can keep up the good playing and slaughter Tottenham again.

Oh and, anyone see the Rangers - Hibernian game? Fucking brutal

Hibernian attacker threatened the goalie, who promptly grabbed his face and dived, causing the attacker to get even more pissed off. I think a couple of punches were thrown before the ref intervened.

Then a Rangers tackle ended up with both players on the ground; the free ball was taken by a Hibernian and smashed into the Rangers player's back, who got up and tried to punch him.

Absolutely hilarious.

I can't believe what happened to Celtic last night. Now we better win the double at least to make up for no European football. And get rid of the keeper he's useless.

WHAT WHAT WHAT HAPPENED? I was at a ceilidh all evening, missed all the games. They better not fucking threaten Aberdeen's post RedRevolution chances.

I'm sure you heard by now but they're just a shambles of a team.

I heard there is a programme about Alex Higgins on this week anyone know when it's on?

didn't you choose to support Aberdeen a few weeks ago?

in other news, a sad day for Benfica and Portuguese football.
José Torres, aka "O Bom Gigante" ("The Gentle Giant") passed away today, at age 71.

9 Portuguese League Titles
4 Portuguese Cups
3 times runner up to the European Champions' Cup (aka the Champ's League)
1 WC 3rd place finish (England 1966)

1 time top Portuguese League goalscorer (ahead of Eusébio himself!)

LEGEND.

About a month ago. And I've dived in headfirst.

What's your point?
