I've been having some crazy ups and downs on Starcraft 2 in the past few days. I won 18 games and lost 6 this week. Then suddenly I lost 6 games in a row tonight. I'm learning I guess, but learning is a motherfucker.

Which league are you in?

I got promoted to gold a few days ago, been playing a lot.

Still haven't done my placement matches, but I think I should come out Silver judging on the people I've played against who are in Gold.

Ditto.

I'm only 30 minutes into the campaign, so I won't let loose a gushing stream of fanboy-ism just yet. But so far, this is the Halo sequel I've been waiting 9 years for.

Huh, well that was short. It only took me little over 5 hours to complete the campaing.... still, very entertaining.

It blows my mind that retailers think we should have to pay full price for games that are over in under 10 hours

Games are becoming more and more like $100 movies

One piece of advice is to avoid winning all your matches. If you do you end up in Platinum and get your ass kicked all day long. I was lucky to be placed in Silver, I really wanted to be in Gold. But now I realise I needed to work my way through Silver to be able to compete in Gold.

it's all about the online with games like Halo and Call of Duty. You can get endless hours of enjoyment online, if you're into that kind of thing.

I just registered my 7th day of playtime on MW2 the other day.

For most, Reach is a 10 hour game if you play it on Heroic difficulty. Which people should, anyway.

Besides, aside from the Campaign, you have Firefight mode and endless multiplayer options. Plus you can construct your own levels and save / share your replays in the theater. Every review I've read has said that it's one of the most feature-rich shooters on consoles. So, I'd say that I'm certainly getting my sixty dollars worth.

See I'm a bit of a weirdo.... my desire in playing games is kinda to avoid people. I play games to get away from everyone and everything and just relax. I used to play Day of Defeat: Source and CS: Source quite often but got over it pretty fast.

Well then it's easy to see why you wouldn't put $60 dollars into a short-ish game, heh. Guess you stick to RPGs then?

I'm addicted to League of Legends. It's free and I team up with old high school friends on skype and beatdown 14 year old Brazilian kids who try taunting with stuff like: 'you **** my MOTHER!!!'.

I saw you online earlier and it said you were playing NHL.

Anyway, finished the Reach campaign today, and though I agree it's maybe a bit too short and the story is surprisingly disappointing, it's probably my second favorite campaign of the series behind Halo: CE. They crammed a TON of cool stuff into single player. And the multiplayer options are phenomenal. It's going to be interesting to see what will happen to the franchise now that Bungie's gone, though.
