Although it's not as layered as say Gambling With The Devil it's still a solid release nonetheless. I give it a 90 for sure heaviness and catchiness :dio: :dio:

By the way nice review.

Are You Metal is the only song on here I care for.

And why the hate on The Dark Ride?

Mr. Torture, All Over the Nations, Immortal? These are easily the best songs the band has released since the classic Keeper albums.

Granted, I can't say that you are wrong if you say that you don't like it. I just think it is the strongest release they've had since those great great days of Kiske.

I was actually referring to the band's (or at least Deris') outspoken dislike of the album. I quite like it, myself.

By itself, this is a very good album. But it just doesn't sound like a Helloween album IMO. The production's too dirty, the guitars are too loud, and the songs just lack the melodic catchiness I often associate the band with. The ironic thing, though, is that the lyrics on 7 Sinners are probably less aggressive than those on Gambling With The Devil (Andi Deris even references E.T. in one song - now THAT is pretty fucking cool!).

Only listened to this a couple times, but it's a fun album. I prefer the more varied and progressive approach they took on The Legacy, but this is a good for what it is. Probably 85 or so from me.

I like how on the intro to Who Is Mr. Madman?, the keyboard effects play the same exact notes as the intro to Perfect Gentleman on the Master Of The Rings album.

Good release, good review.

I like how that song is a follow-up to the Perfect Gentleman story, a kind of 'Perfect Gentleman Part II: 15 years later', am i right?

Also, what's up with the 'Unarmed' bashing? Never heard a single positive comment about it... Makes me sad.
