Ended up getting that stupid MS Checker or whatever the fuck it's called virus for the 5th time in the last year. By sheer coincidence, my laptop's MoBo died when I attempted to restart in safe mode. Weird. I get a BSOD pertaining to the Hard Drive when I attempt to reinstall windows, the HD works on the other computers I plugged it into perfectly. It was not the virus because I would periodically get the same BSOD on rare occassions. I assumed it was because I was using XP on a machine built for Vista and not impending hardware failure.

Didn't lose a single bit of data I had though and have the luxury of having a spare computer with 250gigs free. So now about 380 FLAC albums are on two computers' hard drives. It's not all that bad. 100 bucks worth of cheap ass computer fixes the problem.

This virus seems to occur when you leave any website open that streams data continuously, so kill a webpage if you aren't actively using it or "stop" the loading of the page after you view it and want to keep it open.

I got that virus from a streaming porn site. Whatchu been doin'?

FUCK, which one ?

Russian FLAC forums, but it wasn't just a regular forum that did it, it was one of those news type sites that has flac albums that kept constantly updating itself. I made the mistake of not closing the window. The regular forums are fine. I would be worried if that loading wheel keeps spinning forever or when you try to go "back" in the browser dozens of "visits" exist when you only visited one or two pages.

Please don't be afraid of Russian pirates, they are no worse than anyone else TBH. The other four times were english sites, so the ruskies are way ahead in not giving viruses.

Not as creepy as the Polish sites that insist on registering, passwording everything, then giving you fake FLAC half the time. The QA Dept. in Russia must be outstanding. What's the deal with everyone bitching about Russian issues of albums possibly being MP3-based?

FYI. Some people take whatever MP3 rip they have, convert it to FLAC and upload it. Why waste everyone's time with that and possible defame the artists themselves by presenting awful lossy as "bit perfect from the CD" that FLAC provides.

In case anyone is wondering, I've bought over 600 CD's and at worse only plan on having a collection of about 500 digital albums. If you wanna call me a thief for listening to less music than I buy, ohh well. It isn't fair that stuff goes out of print or that CD's are not indestructible.

Wow, I had no idea. People seriously need to get a life. It's not even fun. I remember years ago, it was still the Napster years, people renamed homemade mp3s with names of popular bands of that time. So, instead DLing say, a song by The Offspring, you'd DL a track of a random guy describing himself shitting all over you and your family, and stuff like that.

Well my example is poorly chosen because in this case that was actually an improvement, but you got the idea.

Good to know that the spirit of trolling has been around since the very beginning.

Madonna famously recorded a nasty speech and released it as a fake for her new single on Kazaa or whatever crap like that we were using at the time.

I'm fairly certain it's called a "song", and she does that all the time.

I hate Dark Moor. I hate them so much. I saw a "guy" (he looked like an emo-queer to me, but to each his own) with a Dark Moor handbag in the train the other day. I insulted him. I really did. My friend, who sat beside me, burst into laughter. So, I insulted him as well. Told him : "The fuck are you laughing at ? It's not funny. Its fucking Dark Moor, it's a serious matter. It shouldn't even exist in the first place. Would you laugh if the poor guy was your brother ? Huh ?"

He laughed even harder. The emo-queer gave me the finger, I stood up menacingly brandishing my walking stick. He ran away, insulting me.

I'm not proud of it. But it was the best fun I had this year. Fucking Dark Moor.

Its nice to have you around Bruce.

I can't believe it's been nearly 7 years since Wintersun's debut release. Boy, time sure flies.
