"Empowering the voluntary sector"?? Closing down libraries and the like does not empower the voluntary sector, it just involves further cuts to the social sector. That bollocks about the voluntary sector is an idiotic excuse for what's really going on.

Well, library closures comes down to local government decisions, and you'll find Lib Dems everywhere fighting against library closures - no LD council is closing a children's centre or a library. Unlike Labour...

I'm not supporting labour or anything. I'm not even blaming the lib dems for what's going on- simply for not putting up enough of a fight against Cameron.

There's plenty of fighting going on. At the same time, we're in a coalition, and have to work together well enough to keep the country running. The balance tips this way and that, but both are going on.

Eh, if you say so, you're probably more informed about what the Lib Dems are doing than I am.
If my campaigning is successful, it won't matter anyway. Going leafletting for the SNP this week, once my essays are done.

I have little doubt we'll do shit in Scotland. Tavish is hardly our best performer... ah well.

So you're an activist for the SNP, FrigidSymphony ? I lost track, you grabbed the citizenship and all, or just not yet ?

I need to live in the UK for 5 years before I get citizenship, and I've almost got one of them done. I was born in Oxford, and I feel a bit cheated, but whatever.
I live in Scotland, and have gotten involved in the local politics. The party that bests represents my interests and ideals is the SNP. Therefore, I support and help the campaign. While Zad may laugh at my newly adopted cultural identity, there is also a very material benefit to me if the SNP stay in power.

Four to go, then. Alright. You already have the accent I am told, you sure did not lose time.

Which is ?
Anyway, good for you. I like people, especially young ones, taking part in politics, wherever their allegiance may go.

I'm a student. The SNP is a social democratic party, they want to keep social spending at the rate it's at, which means low tuition fees for me despite what the cunts in Westminster try to do. At the moment, the Scottish government pays tuition fees to Scottish universities to any Scottish or European citizen- except the English.

I have dual nationality, Swiss and American. My mother was from New York.

Jesus, how long have you been lurking?

I'm quite sure Dio was releasing Holy Diver when I started. No seriously, been visiting MR.com since 2001 or 2002 on a weekly basis, and the forums, err... since 2004-2006, I can't remember. Prior to 2007, that's for sure. I was already lurking when Jaden and Misha played "prettier than thou". My friends and I lost gallons of tears laughing at them and their pictures. Fun times.

Anyway, dual nationality, alright. So you are going for triple nationality ? Wanna be French as well ? No ? Come on.

Fucking hell, that long?

Anyways, yeah, going for triple, US, CH and UK.

Not really interested in France. Germany might be useful in the future, but with UK, I've got the whole EU covered anyway.

Of course you aren't, I was merely jesting. Nobody wants to be French, except people coming from former colonized countries. And me (I took the citizenship when I was 9. I was Spaniard, prior to that).

And yeah, I lurked for that long. I can prove it by describing avatars of some people at the time, who may have changed it : mmm let's see... I remember one had a cute yellow bird or something, saying "AND HE WILL KILL YOU AS YOU SLEEP". Yourself had a long-haired guy as avatar, never recognized him, he looked like Kurt Russel with long hair. By the way, at first I wondered if you were a gal. Goat had so many I can't remember them all. Radagast had several with a dinosaur saying something funny, he changed the catch-phrase once in the while ("Lesbians !", "And I will buy those gifts with CAPITALISM", and so on.) The guy was so funny. Somebody (Afro_D-Shak I think) had the Leo di Caprio one (haters gonna hate), and someone also had a cartoonish fat guy with the same joke (haters gonna hate). And I already mentioned Jaden and Misha. Oh and I'm pretty sure Stefan had a pic of himself, didn't he ?
Anyway, I think I made my point : yes, I was there, spying, conspiring, collecting intel and buying it to random Chinese guys. And I eventually joined in because, well, it's part of my evil plan. You'll see about that.

/thread jacking.

NOW. POLITICS ARE FUN.

That Kurt Russell guy was The Dude, played by Jeff Bridges, from the Big Lebowski.
Philistine.

What a pussy. He seems to get ruffled pretty easily. Not very presidential.
I guess he's gotten too used to fielding fluff questions like "What kind of tree are you?"... plus he didn't have his teleprompter to read the usual shrink-wrapped slogans from.

Fuck this arrogant clown.

Just look at this safety-first pansy with his precious helmet... wouldn't want to fall down and go boom-boom, now would we?
He rides a bike like a little girl, knees pressed together ever so awkwardly... and it looks like he is riding a girls bike.
Seems to have left his knee-pads at home, though.
Those are for when visting other foriegn Heads of State, at any rate.

The fit on his shirt is atrocious too! And his pants'll get caught in the chain if he doesn't tuck the right one into his sock. Has he ever even ridden a bike before? tisk tisk!
