Ended up continuing a long-abandoned second playthrough of F.E.A.R. on hard mode last night. Kinda looking forward to F.E.A.R. 3 but I probably won't buy it until the inevitable thirty dollar price drop hits.

I don't, but I know a lot of people do it. It seems awesome.

Just a piece of advice... don't buy the HDMI cable from Microsoft, it's ridiculously overpriced.

supporting the LA Noire love. already got that shit pre-ordered.

same with Gears 3, Bioshock Infinite, and Batman Arkham City.

also, started playing Assassins Creed Brotherhood again. I bought it way back when it first came out, played it for about 30 minutes and shut it off until this past weekend. Been enjoying it, but it's just not grabbing me like Assassins Creed and Assassins Creed 2 did. just too much of the same I guess.. Oh well, LA Noire is only a few weeks away.

I felt exactly the same about Brotherhood. It seemed a lot smaller as you were stuck in Rome instead of being able travel through different regions.

Yeah but in defense of Brotherhood Rome's a pretty good size city. Unless you're on horseback it can take a little while going from one end of Rome to another.

I know the feeling, I'm itching to buy an Xbox for that matter. However, games I play have lots of mods, which enhance greatly the gaming experience (e.g. The Elder Scrolls, as AlexandeR said).

I want an Xbox because there's still no Red Dead Redemption PC version, and I don't think there will be one. Nor will there be an LA Noire for PC, it seems. It sucks.

Oh, a question for you guys : does somebody here plugs the Xbox in a PC monitor (equipped with an HDMI port) ? If so, does it work well ? I don't want to buy a TV for gaming only...

I do it, works fine. Only problem is my monitor speakers suck so I plugged the speakers I use for my computer into the monitor. Or you could wear headphones I suppose.

I simply cannot get used to PC games taking ages to load, now I'm used to turning my Xbox on and getting going in a matter of seconds. Why the fuck can't they do this on PCs? Ridiculous.

Although I will say that the USB slots on the XB are annoyingly placed. Very fiddly.

I generally like my games slow and refined these days, so I can drink a glass of wine in the meantime and relax. I'm not into rushy stuff anymore, at the end of a long day I like some quiet. So loading times are alright for me.

Civilization player, by any chance ? Huge fan here, except for the fifth which I dislike a lot.

5 is bad? That is a shame.

Nothing could top 2...and 4 (to an extent) for me.

Civ 5 was beyond bad at launch. Then it became somewhat playable. I wait for expansions, to see if Firaxis manage to salvage it.

I liked all previous Civs, from the very first to the last Civ 4 expansion disk. Civ4+ Beyond the Sword especially was really awesome. You could find 4, 5 different ways to build your economy for example. And the mods ! Ah, good times.

But it's all over now.

Civ 4 is great. Used to have it on in the background sometimes when writing reviews, worked wonders when I got blocked. Should get it out again...

Used to stop playing it to read your reviews. Funny how things are.

I loved the Civ 4 expansions as well. The only problem I ran into with Civ 4 is that I loved the resource/economy/city settling part of the game so much that when some annoying country decided to attack I just got mad at their interference and started a new game.

I understand, you're more of a builder than a warmonger. Luckily, I'm both. I loved when, say, Montezuma or Shaka attacked (which was very often, as they're hardcoded to do so), especially when they caught me with my pants down. Up to monarch level, it was quite easy to repel them. But emperor and above was a totally different matter...

Ah, I loved that game.

Playing though the God of War HD remakes in preparation for the new Mortal Kombat game.

Is it bad that I'm really looking forward to it?

Another thing that annoyed me, they got rid of the gallop for the horses!

Hmm... just loaded Steam to have another go at the original Portal, and the only game it's saying I own is Half Life 2, despite my originally having brought the Orange Box. Halp?

Did you buy the Orange Box in retail or on Steam? If it's the former, try 'activate a product on steam' and enter the product code again, see how that goes.
