Found this very hard to get into, wouldn't have scored it that high. They really need to slow their roll.

I love Anaal Nathrakh but it is a fact that they are being repetitive..
I haven't listened to this one yet only the song that was avaiable this website and it sounds quite a lot like the last album

Ashes Screaming Silence is one of the coolest songs they've written in the last few years. They need to cut the clean vox or get creative with them. The first time I gave this a listen I could predict when they were coming in and they followed the same melody they've used since Eschaton. I'm getting literally pissed off by it.

The album is still decent but it doesn't really stand out in any way. So frustrating.

I guess I'm on the same boat, kind of. Although I really enjoy this album (I haven't heard an Anaal Nathrakh album I didn't enjoy), this is definitely one of their weaker offerings. Not that that is saying much considering that their entire discography is great and that I'm a fan. Some tracks do feel like "been there, done that", despite being great on their own. Indeed it is on the more experimental tracks such as Tod Huetet Uebel and Drug-Fucking Abomination (my favourite) that Anaal Nathrakh shine.
This is a very enjoyable album which could have been better. I'm just hoping this isn't the beginning of a downward spiral.
