Yeah, sounds like you used to be so even-handed in your approach.

If you've ever had to wade through the vast amounts of shitty carbon copied bands that compromise 97% of the underground brutal death scene then you'd understand comrade.

Typically, for me not many albums score beneath the 70-80 bracket, and even as much as I loathe garbage like Blowpeth, Agasuck, and Shallowbraid they would probably score in the high 70's to low 80's on my scale.

I don't follow. To me this reads like "If I hate something I'll give it a low score, but I hate Opeth and I'll go ahead and give them a decent score." So, you score albums based on general consensus rather than your own opinion...?

Its not terribly difficult to understand, if its a completely ear-grating record such as the aforementioned- with horrible musicianship, lack of replay value, or music that is just destructive to my ear drums this is grounds for a low score. At the very least, Opeth who are a boring band, wouldn't score anywhere near as low as say Artery Eruption or an album that is just insufferable. As much as I loathe Opeth they are at least listenable and have patchworks of even sounding decent, hence the score of mid seventy as I might even enjoy some parts of the songs.

"I like some parts of some of their songs, but otherwise they're not my thing. I'm gonna call them 'Blowpeth'."

Damn straight, now listen to some Nox and you'll be forgiven. I don't think I've heard them since I tried Blackwater Park for the umpteenth time last month, and my opinion hasn't changed, so kindly inhale carbon monoxide and be on your way, son.

I suppose it's typical of French men abroad - if they're not (allegedly) raping maids, they're pissing all over everything. Tut.

Yes, we are so envious of the French males' weak bladder and inability to pull...

Just finished transferring my iTunes to an external hard drive, and now I'm deleting my library from the internal one. Should be fine-- I tested by deleting one album, and it still plays on iTunes, but still, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I REALLY love that the spam bot trying to sell us Grey's Anatomy DVDs chose the True/Power metal forum.
