I agree.

I think Wrath of the Tyrant (the ep version) is my favorite track on the ep/Demo, and push comes to shove, I prefer the Nightside versions of Keys/Wizards to the ep version. Other opinions?

Emperor's Anthems, IX and Prometheus were symphonic progressive music with advanced Black and Death Metal intertwined in it which goes back to their progressive side. Ihsahn's musical direction until now has been the very definition of an evolution of musical ideas through out an artists' mind.

Seriously, EBD has a good point. Let's just talk about Emperor EPs, mmkay? What are As The Shadows Rise and Reverence like? Don't think I've heard them, certainly not the former...

There's nothing on Reverence that isn't on Anthems... it was basically an interim release.
As the Shadows Rise is very good, you should check it if you like the demo and the ep.

As the Shadows Rise is very good, you should check it if you like the demo and the ep.

As the Shadows Rise is excellent, basically three tracks from the demo: "Witches Sabbath", "Lord of the Storms", and "The Ancient Queen", all with somewhat less lo-fi production. I'm not sure if I prefer this version of Witches Sabbath to the necro version on the demo, but this version of The Ancient Queen is basically perfect, it has to be in my top 5 Emperor tracks.

I prefer the As The Shadows Rise versions. Sounds closer to the EP.
The demo is good but the rawness doesn't seem to fit very well with their composition style, I always thought.
