The Witcher 2 (PC) on gog.com for 29$, right now. Love the first one, going to love the sequel. The offer ends in two days.

Question for those who played Oblivion on xbox: was it playable ? I'm not used to play first person view games with a controller, hence the question. Isn't it more difficult to aim than with the combo keyboard/mouse? I'm asking this in case I have to buy the xbox version of Skyrim.

Well, not played Oblivion, but you get used to FP games pretty quickly. Never as precise as keyboard/mouse, of course.

Nothing beats gaming in a super pc, especially with mods. Someone here plays Black Ops in PS3??? We should organize a clan in some FPS game. That would be awesome.

I just realized I have the Modern Warfare 2 demo and Halo 3. Completely forgot I owned FPS material. Let's see if I suck at aiming (I probably do.)

About Skyrim again (someday I'll get tired, I promise).
In a French hands-on preview I could read that the xbox version of the game is far from being as beautiful as the screenshots we've had. The guy says "it's just a bit better than Oblivion". He also says that animations are nearly as bad as they were in Oblivion.
But overall the preview is very positive. With better graphics + mods, the PC version is probably going to be by far the superior one.

I guess yes. Consoles. The game will be playable (by real players, not retards who call themselves "journalists") at the PAX next friday and week-end. So we probably will know next week-end if the gfx and animations suck.

What do you have, currently? I have a HD4870 512MB, and I run The Witcher 2 in High details (the max being Very High), so even though it's an old card, I'm not complaining. But my CPU (Intel Core2 duo E7400) struggles... a lot. The noise the fans make is deafening.

I know, at least that's what Bethesda says. But several people who attended the Gamescom last week said textures were disappointing. Same with animations (enemies "falling inside" doors when dying, and nonsense like that). We'll see. And as I said, previews are all indisputably optimistic. :dio:

Afrodita, do you have XBOX or PS3? I've a PS3, should be good to play online with a fellow metallian.

Are you surprised? I'm not. I'll have to play it on PS3 sadly, buying a new computer isn't a priority for me right now.

I'm planning to play it on PC around 2013. The mods will be more developed around that time.
