Once again it doesn't matter for me. I mean, obviously I prefer a live draft but considering the circumstances I won't lose sleep over an autopick.

There is a third option, which is doing an offline draft but I don't know if there's enough time to do it between now and when the season starts. Basically we would do the draft here on the forums and then the results get submitted to Yahoo. Again, I don't think there would be enough time just based on how often people are online here. Just throwing that out there.

live draft in the forums could work. I put all the team names into a hat and pick at random to see who drafts in what order. We can start ASAP if needed. Just need everybody to check in.

That would make 26 rounds if I understand correctly? Doable in a couple of days if we're not too lazy, let's start this week-end. Tell your friends to register here guys.

Not sure if we'll get it done that quickly. Again, it all depends how often people are able to get online.

But the season starts on Oct 6 which is two weeks from now. If we can get two or three rounds done per day we should be good.

Let's start an offline draft and if we can't finish it, we'll just autodraft.

Gonna be a pain in the ass to keep track of what players have been picked once we get to the later rounds though, unless someone has a nifty solution for that.

Why not write names & teams down as they come, on a piece of paper next to your keyboard? I know that's what I'm planning to do myself...

Even if somehow two teams have selected the same player, when the results get submitted the system should detect that and give some sort of error message.

We don't actually have to do every round if we run out time. We could do, say, 15 rounds and then leave the rest to waivers/free agency. But obviously doing all rounds is preferred.

the only problem with the draft here is my buddy works all day everyday, as do I but I have computer access all day, where he does not. I will talk to him tonight about it. But I don't know if he'll be able to hop on here for it.

Didn't get a chance to last night, but I just sent him a text about it. Let you guys know what he has to say.

Live draft isn't going to be very easy for me either.. But yeah...

In case you've missed it (but you probably haven't): we're now more on the idea of an offline draft, here on the forums. 8 days should be enough to make the 26 necessary rounds, and Tompa already made the draw in a clever way (yes Dev, CPU > hat). We now just need a "go" from non-MR folks.

So....what's happening?

so my friend doesn't think he will be able to sign up here and do the draft. So, auto pick? Any other solutions?

We still can do this by e-mail, but with über-discipline.

Or, auto-pick (if so, please give us a few days).
