Managed to download some good games. Currently playing:
Civilization 5
Duke Nukem Forever
Borderlands

Currently downloading:
Baldur's Gate 2
Black & White 2
Dragon Age II
Cthulhu
Star Wars Republic Commando
Age of Pirates 2
XIII

Actually looking more forward to Age of Pirates than anything else. The earlier game, Pirates of the Caribbean, was awesome.

between being broke, unmotivated to catch up on all the literally great hundreds of games i've missed, having an outdated (not for general purposes but certainly for gaming purposes) and having no technical skills to download shit or fix simple driver issues i have to say the most recent game i've played is CoD4:MW. i sometimes play FIFA 2011 or the FIFA/Pro Evo 2012 demos on my cousin's PS3, and have become so unaccustomed to the needlessly clunky and flashy menus and more realistic gameplay that ultimately i end up hooking up the PS2 again and just playing Pro Evo 2010 with updated teams, which FUCKING RULES.

Got my copy of Dark Souls last week but didn't really get to sit down and delve into it until today. Holy fuck, what a game. Normally I can't play more than an hour and a half of video games at a time, yet I put TEN hours into Dark Souls today. It makes me so damn mad at times and yet I can't put it down. I love it.

Ayup, it's a time killer for me as well. Flat mate's just given up on it ha ha.

Ha, I don't blame him. I'm at the Gaping Dragon boss right now, my god that thing is fucking terrifying. In fact, The Depths in general make me feel really uneasy, especially those frog things that can curse you in an instant if you take a wrong turn and fall through a trap door. The atmosphere in this game is just incredible.

It's fun, not too sure what I think about the city expansion system. Cultural border expansion should happen more often. My girlfriend's playing it as well, she's actually doing better than me O.o

Nope, didn't pay for Dragon Age II. Is it bad?

I really dislike the empire-wide happiness in Civ5. And I agree with both your points. I shall give this game another shot though, I'm told it is better now than it was a year ago, when you basically could win a Domination victory on a Pangea map by killing everyone with four horsemen (lol, but true).

And, regarding DA2, there's a general consensus here to say it is a catastrophe. I didn't play it though, so you tell me.

I love when people take video games too seriously.

And, Batman Arkham City in a week!

If gaming is not a serious matter, nothing is.

The Civ series of games (well, Civ 2 and Civ 4, anyway) are far more important than life itself.

Jesus, Dragon Age II has more cinematic sequences than gameplay so far. Still fun though. I like the combat animation.

Oh aye. He managed to get back into it so I've been playing it as much as I'd like, but I've discovered that the curses stack which, uh, isn't fun o_O;.

Th-the curses stack?? D: That's fucking terrible. Thankfully the witch lady merchant in the shortcut tunnel between the lower and upper parts of the Undead Burg sells curse remedies for about 6K souls... I just cleared Blight Town, the Great Hollow, and Ash Lake, and I'd suggest that you avoid Ash Lake like the plague except there's this ancient dragon down there that you can make a covenant with that will give you some fantastic items for doing so. It's pretty great.

Aye. Though I might wait until Christmas and see what deals they cook up on Steam.

Tempting, yes. But since I didn't buy the games I'm interested in in order to buy Skyrim on release day (Heroes VI, Game of thrones : Genesis, Sengoku, Dark Souls...), I don't think I'm going to wait. I admire you.

The only thing missing is the damned minimum and recommended system requirements to play this. 24 days to go, come on Bethesda the game should be "Gold" already...

About Dark Souls, system requirements according to a french website:

Minimum requirements: Knowing how to calm down, and a lot of self-control
Recommended requirements: 10 years experience in a Buddhist monastery.

:D

I was a bit disappointed by screenshots of this game. It doesn't seem to be very beautiful. Your thoughts?

Lawl, it's true :D
And the game is quite beautiful in motion; fantastic scenery, light reflecting off the moisture on flagstones, particles of dust floating in the air, etc. The framerate is absolutely shit at times though.

Fuck... I forgot about this one. There are just too many games I want to play right now. And to think I still haven't tried Portal 1 & 2, LA Noire, Shogun 2, NHL 12, FIFA 12... Growing up sucks, I want to be a teen again.

...

Err... actually no, I don't. But you know, too little time.

LA Noire is fun, but gets boring doing the exact same thing every crime scene.

NHL 12 is just god-like. Would be good for you to play seeing as how you are in the hockey pool now.

Don't care about the other ones you mentioned! :P

although the FIFA 12 demo was pretty friggin good.
