I know, I have a couple of hours free tonight for gaming and I can't decide- Borderlands, Dragon Age II, Civ V or Republic Commandos? Fuck's sake.

Civ 5 could get you going for quite a bit more than a few hours. Borderlands is cool for the duration, but you ideally need to find some friends to play with.

Did you buy it on Steam?

Good for you. I got bored of it after about three hours in singleplayer.

It did get a bit repetitive but with most open world games this always seems to be the case

Ended up going for Commandos.

I downloaded Borderlands from thepiratebay, and apparently if I fiddle around with something I can get the multiplayer to work, but for now I'm just in singleplayer.

NHL 12 is just god-like. Would be good for you to play seeing as how you are in the hockey pool now.

Ordered, I'll get it in a couple of days. I'm going to try and bring Canadiens their ancient glory back...

Better trade Price, Plekanec, Gionta, Pacioretty, Subban, Cammaleri, etc..

Won't win shit with that core.

Is there a game mode where you can stack seasons? I mean, can you start the game in 2011-12, and end it in 2020-21 or something? If yes, how are rookies generated? Do players even age?

Be-A-GM Mode. You can do all that and then some. There are several European leagues and the entire CHL to get rookies from. You can do up to 25 years in Be-A-GM, and manage several different teams. Rookies have potential for offense, defense, and athleticism. The ratings are on a A to E- (E- is the lowest I've ever seen) the higher the rating the better. Depends on how the play, where they play (what league, correct position), and how you coach them determines how they rank up. Every player has a number ranking from 50 to 99, the higher the better, and every off-season their ranking changes depending on age, potential, and how well they produced during the season/playoffs. If you're young and have good potential you're ranking will go up. If you're old, 35+, and stop producing offensively you're ranking will go down and the player will eventually retire. When you get far enough into your GM career, the game will just start making random players. It has a database of names on the disc and will just randomly select a first name, last name, and birth country. Sometimes you'll get a John Smith from Yugoslavia, but the game is usually pretty good and keeping things realistic.

I personally love Be-A-GM mode and play it all the time. NHL games come out every September, and I'm usually playing the old version up until the release date of the new one. NHL 12 came out here September 13th, I was playing NHL 11 until september 12th.

Put a couple hours into Batman Arkham City last night.. OH MY GOD. If you like Batman, open world games, fighting games, stealth games, rpg elements, pretty graphics, and/or an awesome story then you'll love the new Arkham. It's just so goddamn big with so much stuff going on. There's always the main story going on, not to mention several different side quests, people being beat up that need help, helicopters flying around that you can fuck with, can go inside pretty much every building, etc.. there's just so much to do. It may not be the biggest or deepest game out there, or coming out, but for a "casual gamer" such as myself, this game is HUGE. I definitely wont be 100% it, and not because I don't want to but because I just wont be able to.

NHL 12 came in the mail from the UK. My copy came without a manual. I probably wouldn't have read it anyway, but still.

Now let's see what the game has to offer...

Wicked fun! :D Need some practice to play the pro level (rookie's far too easy), but good sensations. I'm going to have an effin' blast. :dio:

edit: fuck I even like how Anthrax's I'm alive is in the game. Haha.
