The interface is the worst thing ever. I honestly thought they would make a better one than the horrible Oblivion one, this is even worse. Seriously, why can't we have an inventory where we can actually see the items? and why the hell do we have to navigate the menus with the keyboard, that is fucking bullshit.

Fortunately, I can max the shit out of the game without any issues. Combat is really sweet and you can feel the impact of your warhammer on your enemies.

So, guys: buy it now or wait for a slim chance of a slim saving at the Christmas sales?

No answer, so I assume everyone's playing it?

You're lucky: you can't go wrong with both options. The game is well worth the 50 euros (or less elsewhere, for instance 30 pounds on amazon.co.uk, which probably is a good deal even with shipping fees. I don't think Steam is likely to beat that price this year). But if you wait a couple of weeks, you'll get to play with mods right off the bat (and if you're like me, you'll be craving for them). So, your call, really.

Okay, I'm so buying it. And Day of Defeat: Source as well with the current sale. I'm betting the other TES titles' prices will be slashed at Christmas, so that would be the time to re-purchase Morrowind again, too.

That, and the new Necron force I'll be collecting for Warhammer 40k... I'm glad I got my tax return recently.

First crash (return to desktop) after 4 hours. About fucking time, I was starting to wonder if Bethesda really made this game. No problem, it's them.

(:D)

Some other spoiler-free remarks:

Alright, the normal difficulty isn't necessarily too easy. You'll kill regular foes (like bandits) without breaking a sweat, but stronger foes are... well, strong. I'm level 4, and there are already two I'm not able to beat yet. Cool.
That said, if you want a deadly and unforgiving Skyrim, up the difficulty level. Definitely. Especially with that auto-healing thing. Oh and, it *seems* that enemies auto-heal too. To be confirmed (by me or someone else).

So far, I'm having a blast. The UI is bad as I and EdgeOfForever said, but you get used to it. I think it safe to say it now: they didn't fuck up :dio:

Tell us what you think when you're there. Same goes to all of you.

Some more thoughts (no spoilers, as usual): I'm 10 hours in now, and I've hardly explored 1/8 of the map (but I rarely fast-travel though). I've been keeping myself busy with mines/caves etc. And some secondary quests. Fun! I'm level 8. Nord guy, one-handed sword, destruction, heavy armor. I'm thinking of adding Alchemy to the list. I want to play the potion-guy. And I've hardly touched the main quest... there's a lot to do!

Oh and a word on the size of Skyrim. When you open your map for the first time, it doesn't seem impressive. Don't be fooled: it's as big as Cyrodiil in Oblivion. And if you add in the hilly/mountainous landscape, it's feels bigger.

One thing I don't like though: unless I'm mistaken, during a fight you can swallow as many potions as you wish. In other words, as long as you bring enough health potions, you're invulnerable. I can't say I like this.

Bethesda and physics. A long love-hate relationship. Giants are not to mess with, though!

I just played the intro so far, girlfriend and a Warhammer campaign in the local store took much of my time.

Anyway, ultra high settings on my 1.5 year old pc with a decent 35 fps? Looks like Bethesda have finally built a decently streamlined engine.

How the hell does one exit a container? In the intro I was told to look in a wooden coffer, I took everything out but I can't seem to exit the container screen.

Yeah, I didn't find any way to do that either.

Apparently it's tab. Not all that intuitive...

Anyway, I just finished Bleak Falls Barrow (I think that's the name), had to run from the enemy right at the end. I'm doing a heavy armour/sword/shield type character, I'll be adding alchemy or restoration to that soon. I've been shield bashing enemies off of ledges, good fun that.

So far, I'm liking it immensely.

Karma: what's the command for showing FPS? Or do you simply use FRAPS or something? I wonder if I can push it to Ultra... let's see...

I didn't find a way to show FPS, so I use fraps.

Haven't gotten anywhere in the game yet, I am debating whether or not to reroll my character. I made a Nord wielding a warhammer but I feel like a 2h weapon is very limiting and I really would like to try using magic and maybe even a bow since I have never played an archer type character. So hard to decide

Let us know, because my best friend was totally drooling over the game but sad about having a mac.

20 hours in. Spent the whole day on the damned thing. Addictive stuff. Thankfully starting tomorrow RL interferes, so I can rest my eyes a little. *sigh of relief*

Still haven't touched the main quest  I'm level 14. If I level-up too much, slaying dragons is going to be tedious (I hope they fixed level scaling...). I'm exploring, roaming, looting. I have to buy a house, I need a place to stockpile my junk. I still have more than 75% of the map to explore, after 20 hours. Haha, what a blast this is.
