I concur, and really like unscripted ones. I've seen a dragon circling above me for like a minute to finally simply go sit somewhere else. They don't necessarily attack, they have a will of their own. Love it. I've seen another one flying high above me in the sky. He wasn't interested in toasting me, and was headed to the Throat of the World.

I also like that there are several type of dragons. I've seen two for now: dragons, and blood dragons (much tougher).

I've found that a good trick for defeating dragons as a melee fighter is to do a shield bash right when the dragon is about to breathe fire in your face. The dragon recoils and its attack is interrupted.

That's a good idea. I'm part fighter-part mage and I find the only way I can kill them is:

-hide
-throw fireball
-hide
-throw fireball

repeat 89892389 times

Karma, was it you who had a friend looking for a mac version of Skyrim? Warez-bb has an updated and patched version of Skyrim on the Cider port. I've got the download links, if want to pm me or something. They're split up into 14 parts, but if you keep an eye on it you'll have it downloaded in a day.

Warrior-mage as well (lvl 22). As I leveled up, I chose most of the one-handed perks, which lead me to slay dragons with power attacks (I have a good share of critical strikes), and a healing left hand. With blood dragons, I need to hide and heal a couple of times.

I can't wait to fight dragons with an archer.

Yup, my best friend is digging it. Fun fact: he was unemployed for two hole bloody years and now that he could finally waste all that time on something like Skyrim, he found a job

I'm still downloading it... I was halfway through downloading version 1.0 when they put up 1.1. Said "fuck it" and started over.

And you did right. Bethesda games are meant to be played up-to-date, they're so buggy. I just had an annoying bug: an important NPC was 'stuck' in a wall (lol), which prevented me to talk to him and finish a quest in the process. I had to use the console (kill/resurrect). But to be fair, this was the first annoying bug I had in 45 hours.

Can't wait for 1.2 :D

I remember one time in Morrowind when I went for ages without saving, I was looking for Berenziah's Pillow Book to steal for the Thieve's Guild and when they caught me sneaking around the Hlaalu house I killed a noble trying to escape. I got that message about "the world will never be the same again", panicked, reloaded and lost about 5 levels. Fuck.

I've had a few CTDs so far, beyond that not all that much trouble.

One hour left till the last part of my download finishes... Dear god, my girlfriend will kill me if I pull an all nighter.

Low settings. It has autodetect though so it will determine what is best for you.

Fuck, crashed after a stupidly long loading period right at the beginning, where it zooms in and out of the dragon statue. Trying to fix it.

Got it to work, albeit slowly. Going to wait until I get my presentation and first essay out of the way though before I start. Next week it will be mine!

I have a CTD every 4-6 hours of play. It never is an issue, because I 'quick save' often (F5), and there are the 3 autosaves anyway.

Now, where am I? 50 hours of play (wait, already?!), level 27. One-handed (lvl 89), Heavy armor (lvl 70 I think), Destruction (lvl 49), Smithing (lvl 43). Leveling up Smithing is a total joke which needs to be fixed (you can reach lvl 100 in a few minutes by crafting iron daggers).
I have completed 44 'labeled' quests (the non-miscellaneous ones). I really like this 'radiant story' thing (that tool Bethesda created to generate random quests, which aren't the same from one game to another). They often are Fedex missions (go fetch this, bring that to my buddy), or slaughter missions (go kill everyone in that cave, please I beg you), but not always (infiltrate this, investigate on that). And still, those quests are great for roaming the land, and exploring.

And another nice touch is, you can't do everything in your first run. Most RPG games (and other) nowadays are like this, but still. Ah, the lulz.

So I got Skyrim but the new Assassins Creed is too good to put down. Skyrim will have to wait.
