One of the best things about Skyrim is the fact that you actually get to choose something when you level up. I just wish more developers would understand that they should add MORE choices when it comes to developing the character. Why not have birthsigns, attributes like str, vit, dex; skills, weapon specializations and so on? That stuff would just make the game 10x better. Instead, most developers are giving us LESS choice, just look at Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 2... WTF where they thinking?!

Streamlining it all cause they think it will sell more copies - Basically they think we are idiots that can't handle choice

Fiddled around with the game contents data on Skyrim till it was playable. Got to Whiterun, discovered it wasn't keeping track of my saves- FUCK.

EdgeOfForever: couldn't agree more.

Fridge: I like your perseverance :) But be patient, don't waste the gaming experience with a lousy rig. You don't lose anything in waiting, the game will only get better.

I figured out what happened... When I copied the .ini file I needed with the correct preferences, it must have overwritten the saves folder, which I have now restored by rebooting the .dmg. I'll try once more when my sociology essay is done, and if it's still problematic, it can go fuck itself.

In other words, Legacy of Kain. Retro awesomeness.

Skyrim, nth attempt, with a bottle of montepulciano and a 15 pack of tennents. Tabasco olives and a big bag of salt and vinegar crisps if I get the munchies.

You're the only living person playing this game and reporting about the kind of food you're eating. How sad, it almost makes me want to send you the cash for a new rig via paypal.

Anyway, 95 hours, level 36, One-handed weapon and Heavy armor maxed out, my little guy's almost unbeatable. I probably wont do all I want to do before hitting 200 hours.

===> :)

95 hours, what the hell. Are you unemployed and/or single?

Hey, Deus Ex at half-price with the current Steam autumn sales, worth it or not? I mean, massive metacritic score and such means little to me, usually.

Both. I'm a PhD student (I work when I want), and I've been single for 5 months (I play when I want). I've put around 60 hours the first week, 30 the second. Not my worst, really, it remains human

I don't know, but thanks for the heads up, I'm getting it.

If it's the original Deus Ex then there's really no question about it, you should buy it.

I have only played about 4 hours of Human Revolution and it is pretty cool, worth buying I'd say.

I have a girlfriend and a job, as well as another time-consuming hobby (tabletop wargames), so after exactly two weeks I'm at 30 hours, level 27. I'd want to play some more, but it feels like I might overdo it at one point and grow bored of it, and I don't want that to happen. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that jazz :)

Motherfucker, it froze after being in game for like 5 minutes twice in a row. Fuck this shit, I've got an essay to write.

I do have a decent computer. It's probably got to do with my port or something.

Yes, I hear you. I have the reverse functioning: out of sight, out of mind. Unfortunately for my social life  Typically what I've done with Morrowind, Oblivion and the Fallouts is playing the crap out of them for a month, then forget about them for a year or so, and then replay them with mods. Rinse and repeat a couple of times. I can't play these games any other way. Long runs are a blast for immersion and 'epicness'.

Even for the highly addictive Civilization games, I used to follow this pattern of 'play intensively for a short period, then forget about it for a long period'. I'm really thankful I've never developed addictions (to anything), à la hardcore World of Warcraft players. I'm not built that way it seems... but you're never too cautious.

Well anyway, 30 hours and level 27 is damn efficient! I was only level 16-18 after 30 hours. I spend too much time fucking around I guess. Not fast traveling also doesn't help (I fast travel only when absolutely necessary).
Tomorrow, I'm hitting 100 hours. Fuck yeah.

Also, no news of Afro_D-Shak since he's got the precious within his grasp.

I'm genuinely worried about him.

NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, 256 MB VRAM. That's supposed to run it.

Fridge? Clearly not ( http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/t ... are-guide/ ). That's a low end card, and the minimum VRAM required is 512MB. You need a better rig, or a console.
