I have waited aaaaaages for this. And it's a bit disappointing, vocals are still poor, as good as instrumentation is.

Think I'm gonna have to add Opeth to my long list of bands who've gotten better and better as they've gotten older.

I have never liked clean vocals, but the theme of this album has always made me get over that... Fucking awesome......

But Mikael's voice, riffs and melodies just get better and better! Also the drumming is so groovy and wonderful. End of Famine is one of the heaviest Opeth moments and then there's a flute solo over it; it's perfect! The album's so varied, tasty and fun while still having that darker atmosphere at all the right moments.

np: Jethro Tull - A Passion Play
Mikael's singing was reminding me of Ian's. Their voices are really different but their melodies and colourings are similar.
