Just about finished Atlas Shrugged. Taken as pro-work rather than anti-government, it works.

What do you think of them so far even if they might too early to judge them.

i finished that freud. Its only about one hundred pages. At times progressive but other times problematic.

Hegel is tough. Im bouncing around in it too. We'll see.

Hegel's PoS is an enlightening book if taken into consideration you grasp a rather good understanding of his notion of self-certainty introduced in the first chapter of the book. In terms of Freud, I much prefer the mysticism of Jung any time of the day. Freud seems to have a simplistic approach to human nature which really does not leave much room for interpretation and sophistication.

Finished Pandora's Star yesterday, bought the sequel, Judas Unchained today. Fucking massive books.

Also bought The Stars My Destination, The Foundation Trilogy, Caves of Steel and The Stars, Like Dust earlier this month.

Reading Great Expectations and Macbeth among other shit for school on the side of all these sci-fi books.

Damn. I didn't like it at first, but Success was really great. Loved how the style of writing shifted between the two characters (and changed depending on their emotional state). My heart was thoroughly wrenched by the end of it. I want to wear capes and snakeskin boots. Gonna have to read more Martin Amis.

Now reading William James' Pragmatism and Fay Weldon's something something She-Devil.

Guns, Germs and Steel was a good one. Hadn't thought about the topic before and learned a lot of miscellaneous stuff from reading it.

Finished Fay Weldon's The Life and Loves of a She-Devil. She had a nice sense of humour but the whole book seemed incredibly bitter (mostly about feminist stuff but she also comes across as a bit misanthropic in general).

Now reading Iris Murdoch's The Sea, The Sea. It's very languid so far. Also Cicero's On Moral Ends.

I attempt to read the Song of Ice and Fire Saga. I am now currently reading book 2 - Clash of Kings.
I started reading (unfortunately after) watching the first season of Game of Thrones - but I still highly enjoy it.

Welcome to the forum. You're not missing any major details by skipping the first one. Clash of Kings is one of the very best of the series. I'm currently reading the fifth.

I got the following books in the last week:

Al Franken: Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot
Al Franken: Lies and the lying liars that tell them
...because I like The Truth (with jokes) so much
Some book about quitting smoking
Artie Lange - Too Fat To Fish
Some vitamins and herb book
Ray Bradbury - the one about going to live on mars (I think Mr. L probably read it)

I'm trying to find books on how to train opera singers like I see floating around on GBooks and Amazon, to no avail.

Finished Iris Murdoch's The Sea, The Sea. 'twas a pleasant meditation on obsessive love and how we can never know other people or ourselves because we're trapped inside a temporary perspective.

Now readin' Nabokov's Despair.

How does one find time to read during the school year? I'm always, always behind on my school reading....

Nevertheless, spring break is coming and I would like to read something. Can't decide between challenging myself with Infinite Jest, challenging myself to read 100 Years of Solitude in Spanish, or going for something good but more relaxing.
