I sense this review will have many posts like the Evanescence review a few weeks ago.

Hence the opening paragraph. I sense that as well.

Not much to say about the band imo. Comalies and that Revery album were fine for what they are, Comalies being the album that is personally relevant. Their latter albums are expectantly shit especially when they downtuned to sound like Korn.

Not a word on the best track Intoxicated ? come on ! that one was a hoot to listen too and Cristina's vocals are simply superb on that track. For me the best tracks are the ones where they attempt something different such as trip The Darkness, Intoxicated, End of time and My Spirit. Kill the light is also great but it brings nothing really new. All in all, Dark Adrenaline is a very enjoyable album and in terms of quality quite a notch up compared to other recent releases from female fronted metal (see: Evanescence and Nightwish). Their best release since Comalies.

I agree with best since Comalies, but I put in Comalies last night just to remember where they were then and they are miles behind it. Trip the Darkness is decent, but didn't really do much for me. Intoxicated is pretty good, and you are right about her vocals being good on it (not sure about superb, but definitely good). Still, I would not consider Intoxicated to be one of the better tracks. Somewhere in the middle for me.

Great Album! Lacuna Coil has evolved nicely. They have always been pop/metal, but still manage to be heavy. The dual vox are great as always. I predict many spins of this new album. Thanks to Metal Reviews for the review and great choices and variety of reviews lately. I think it's important to cover all aspects of Metal, even the pop stuff. I love Grind and Black and Death, but also love bands like The Gathering and Anathema so the scope of Metal or Hard Rock is pretty broad these days. Even though The Gathering and Anathema are not really Metal anymore; they once were and many metalheads still follow them and love them. Thank you for realizing that and providing reviews for some of those bands that may have mellowed out, but still produce very quality releases that show growth in different directions. We may not always like their directions, but it is fun to explore and sometimes you find yourself pleasantly surprised.
