Nice '1' in homage to Steve, Wally.

Well it doesn't suck but giving it a perfect score is a tad ridiculous.

I really love the '17' myself. "You'll be accurate, my son. Even in thrashing bad albums."

This band has never and will never record a perfect album.

Oh, and is there a way to hear anything other that audibly? Can you silently hear something?

(Ignoring the imbecile who posted right above me)

Tony: I just listened to some tracks, and I think this sounds good (you were very right to point out that cool bass solo in strangulation chair) but I'm not sure how this gets a 100. Solid death metal without risks just doesn't strike me as 100/100 material in 2012. I recall the firestorm over your last 100/100, Lunar Aurora's Andacht, but in comparison, that album seemed like something very worthy of such a score.

Anyway, I appreciate the enthusiasm.

Only Adveser can.

To me it's not really whether or not the album stands up to the entirety of heavy metal but as it stands up to its sub-genre. I gave Andacht a 100 because it was the best BM I had heard in a long time. The same goes for this album. I thought it was the best since Vile and I took my time and tried to convince myself it wasn't that good. However DM hasn't seen much these past few years and this was refreshing.

Just passing by and not really caring about the topic since I never listened to this band, but I just had to give you thumbs up for the comment... ROTFLMAO... Thanks so much for that comment, it took me by surprise because it was so natural (like a perfect comedic moment) and it really made me laugh hard... wiping tears (of laughter) from my face. Thanks man :)

But it's not funny because acknowledging me is the opposite of ignoring me.

I'd probably take something like Mitochondrion, Lost Soul, Dead Congregation, or Defeated Sanity's most recent albums over this Cannibal Corpse album, but Torture is solid stuff. I just wanted to hear more of your take on it: your references to (still awesome) NSV make sense as even some of the riffs I heard on Torture reminded me of it. Thanks for the review.

And glad I gave you a laugh, Chris.

But isn't the irony of it part of why it's funny?

It's got great production and some really powerful grooves. Scourge of Iron is my favorite just cause it's so crushing. They are not reinventing the wheel here; it's straight forward death metal, but isn't that what we look for in Cannibal Corpse? The score is too high. Even the reviewer had a fanboy disclaimer for his review score. He knows it's not a 100, but he is a huge fan and excited about a really solid release so give him a break. If you like death metal, I would be surprised if you could not find some enjoyment listening to this album.

Yeah... This may be really great but odd scoring is off-putting. I'll check it out eventually probably. I can't even imagine this being a full album of tracks as awesome as "Death Walking Terror" and that I'd be hard-pressed to give a 100.
